“Mr. Jiang, I told you that the Undying Dragon Clan is not to be trifled with. Do you believe me now?” the old man said, still shaken, nearly having met his end inside.
“Not to be trifled with? I didn’t feel anything,” Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
His words left the old man speechless.
Once back in the cliffside villa, before the old man could sit down, a dark mist suddenly rose from him.
“Oh no, the Undying Dragon Clan is going to blame me! Mr. Jiang, save me!” the old man cried out, his voice filled with despair.
“The master bears the mark of the Undying Dragon Clan. Having offended them this time, they surely won’t let him off easily. Mr. Jiang, do you have any way to save him?” Ronnie said anxiously, at a loss for what to do.
Jiang Chen remained calm as he looked at Jon Delson, from whom the black mist was emanating, a nonchalant smile on his face.
The black dragon pattern on Jon Delson was an invasion of resentment from the Undying Dragon Clan, manifesting as malice. This was something that ordinary people could not handle, but for Jiang Chen, it was a trivial matter.
With a swift motion, Jiang Chen eliminated the malice from the old man’s body. With a reluctant dragon’s roar dissipating into silence, the black dragon pattern on Jon Delson’s back vanished completely.
Jiang Chen’s casual demeanor left Jon Delson dumbfounded. How could Jiang Chen be so incredible? A problem that had troubled him for most of his life was resolved just like that? Jon Delson found it hard to believe and kept checking in the mirror, confirming again and again that the black dragon pattern on his back had truly disappeared.
“Hahaha!” Suddenly, Jon Delson burst into wild laughter. The enormous weight that had pressed on his heart for years was finally lifted; how could he not feel exhilarated?
But soon after, worry clouded Jon Delson’s face once more.
“Mr. Jiang, now that you’ve eliminated this dark mist, the Undying Dragon Clan will surely be furious. Will they come after me? Honestly, I don’t mind if they kill me; I’m more afraid of putting my family in danger,” the old man said anxiously.
“Let them rage. They’ve been suppressed here for so many years and are angry every day, but anger won’t solve anything. Unless something unexpected happens, they’ll remain suppressed for another hundred years. You don’t need to worry about it,” Jiang Chen reassured him.
“A hundred years? That long? Well, that’s good,” the old man sighed in relief. Previously, he had hoped for the Undying Dragon Clan to emerge quickly since his life was in their hands. But now that the dark mist was gone, it meant he no longer had to be enslaved by them; naturally, he didn’t want them to come out anytime soon.
“It might happen sooner,” Jiang Chen added casually.
“…” The old man tensed up again.
The matter regarding the Undying Dragon Clan had turned out to be an unexpected gain this time.
Jiang Chen now understood the situation better. If his rebirth hadn’t changed certain events, based on his memories from his previous life, at least within ten years, the Undying Dragon Clan should not break free from their seal. After all, he hadn’t heard any news about their emergence in his past life; perhaps it was because the old man’s sacrifice had failed to break their seal or because when they did emerge, humans quietly eliminated them. After all, while formidable, the Undying Dragon Clan could not contend with nuclear weapons.
Of course, none of this mattered. Even if Jiang Chen’s rebirth altered the trajectory of events and led to an early appearance of the Undying Dragon Clan in this world, it wouldn’t concern him much. By next year at most, dealing with them would pose no challenge for him at all. If they emerged, so be it; Jiang Chen would just use their organs to craft some spiritual artifacts for his disciples.
