During lunchtime, Wen Sheng and Changqing followed Gao Ming to his home to visit Gao Liang. Once a figure of authority, Gao Liang had lost his former charm; it was never a glorious affair for anyone to be beaten. When Gao Liang saw Wen Sheng and the others enter, he felt a bit embarrassed and nodded slightly, inviting them to sit down.
"Gao Liang!" Wen Sheng smiled.
"Hehe!" Despite the absence of any serious issues, Gao Liang still felt a loss of face.
"Who had the audacity to lay hands on Gao Liang?" Changqing chimed in.
"Got drunk! Otherwise, how could they have taken me down?" Gao Liang lit a cigarette, taking a drag. "Damn, there were so many of them! You learn from your mistakes! Next time, if things look bad, you should be more clever. Can't let yourself suffer for being foolish!"
"Can we consider this matter settled?" Wen Sheng asked.
"Settled? What can I do about it? It's all on me! No justification!" Gao Liang shook his head and touched the bandaged area on his head.
"We'll see if you still go out drinking after this. How can you still be so carefree after a drink?" Gao Liang's wife walked in from outside with a cup of water. Her name was Sun Xia; she had fair skin and a plump face that was quite appealing.
"Why do you have so much to say, woman?" Gao Liang chuckled.
"Haha! Look who's talking!" Sun Xia laughed cheerfully. "You can shout at your wife at home, but what’s the big deal about getting beaten up outside?"
"Believe it or not, I’ll get up and hit you!" Gao Liang joked, pretending to threaten her.
"I'm scared of you! You only bully me!" Sun Xia teased back.
"Not just me! My brothers came to see me today, and you’re making me lose face with your nonsense!" Gao Liang laughed.
"Don't blame me for smearing dirt on your face! You asked for it with that face of yours. Just look at you; your face has been dirty for ages! You didn't need my help with that. Getting beaten up for flirting with women in other towns? That's what you deserve, haha! Serves you right!" Sun Xia laughed.
"That was just because I had too much to drink! Normally, I'm a good person!" Gao Liang feigned a bit of grievance.
"You’re a good person? Don’t think I don’t know!" Sun Xia retorted defiantly.
"Ask my brothers! You're the only one in my heart!" Gao Liang pretended to be serious.
"I can prove it! Gao Liang has never drunk at Hong Xiang Ge, never called any sister, and certainly never went to the back rooms or shared a bed with any of them!" Wen Sheng chimed in cheerfully. Hong Xiang Ge was a well-known establishment in town, famous for its many beautiful women. Even people Wen Sheng's age were drawn to that place, though the prices were quite high. They simply couldn't afford it. Meanwhile, Gao Liang and others who were prominent figures in town frequented the place, but whether they actually sought out beautiful girls for some fun remained unspoken.
"That's your proof? You're making things up!" Gao Liang laughed and pretended to swing at Wen Sheng.
"This guy is really bad!" Sun Xia said, ruffling Wen Sheng's hair playfully.
"Don't go there anymore; those women aren't clean!" Sun Xia advised earnestly.
"You’re clean; just wash up well, and I'll use you tonight!" Gao Liang winked with a grin.
"How inappropriate! Why don't you just drop dead?" Sun Xia blushed slightly, her hand still stroking Wen Sheng's head.
"Gao Liang! Sister-in-law is trying to seduce me!"
"Alright, none of you are any good! I'm going to cook! Wen Sheng, have you eaten? Why don't you stay and eat here?" Sun Xia turned around and smiled.
"Not yet! I was just thinking about having some of Sister-in-law's cooking!" Wen Sheng pretended to be innocent.
"Fry up a few dishes; I'll have some drinks with the brothers!" Gao Liang instructed her.
"All you think about is drinking! You'll drink yourself to death one day!" Sun Xia scoffed with a smile.
"If I die, who will sleep with you? Who will make you scream?" Gao Liang shouted with a laugh!
"I'm done talking to you; you're getting more and more ridiculous!" Sun Xia blushed slightly and turned to leave.
"Don't let her fool you; she's actually more passionate than I am! She's wild at night!" Gao Liang said proudly.
"Hehe!" Wen Sheng and Changqing chuckled quietly.
"Stop your silly laughing! I'm serious. Women are like that; they act all prim and proper, but inside, they're even more eager than us men! When I first got together with her, she was always teasing me. We weren't even married yet, and I had already been with her several times. I still remember those moments; such beautiful memories!" Gao Liang reminisced with a light laugh.
"Haha!" Wen Sheng joined in the laughter.
"You're such a fool! When you see a woman you like, just go for it. Once you've been with her, you're guaranteed something. Love and all that is just nonsense! First comes money, then you need to be strong! With those two things, any woman can be yours! How about this? Let me take you guys out for some fun; let's practice a bit!" Gao Liang boasted.
"I'm not going!" Changqing pretended to be serious.
"Then Wen Sheng can stick with me; I'll take you along! Are you in?" Gao Liang pulled at Wen Sheng.
“Going is not a problem, the key is who will pay for it!” Wen Sheng laughed.
“It has potential! A child can be nurtured! Of course, the money will come from me. You just need to practice well and not let me down. From now on, you’ll be my closed-door disciple!” Gao Liang replied with a smile.
“Master! I think Shifu's Wife is quite nice!” Wen Sheng grinned.
“You're just asking for trouble! One of the top ten taboos in the martial world is to seduce your brother's wife!” Gao Liang said with a tone befitting the martial world.
“I’m not trying to seduce your brother’s wife! It’s Shifu's Wife!” Wen Sheng chuckled.
“That’s even worse! If you try to seduce Shifu's Wife, Master will wipe you out directly!” Gao Liang laughed while patting Wen Sheng on the back.
“Listen, Gao Liang, you have quite a few clever ideas. Give Master a suggestion on how we can regain our face! Seeking revenge won’t work; for every person we send, another will die. We can’t go hard against them outside our own territory!” Gao Liang said wisely.
“Well…” Wen Sheng pondered for a moment.
