"Yan Fei! What on earth is this marriage alliance about?" Yao Guang stormed into the room, kicking the door open in a fit of anger.
At that moment, Yan Fei was changing clothes, his upper body bare as he wiped the sweat from his brow with a towel.
Hearing Yao Guang's question, he showed no surprise. He casually tossed the towel to Yao Guang and said languidly, "Help me wipe it off."
Wipe it off? You must be joking! Yao Guang was so furious that she repeated her question loudly, adding, "Did you know from the very beginning that I came here for a marriage alliance? No, wait, I came here to find Heart Knot!"
"Isn't looking for Heart Knot the same as a marriage alliance?" Yan Fei sauntered over slowly, his robe trailing on the ground with a soft rustle, just like when they first met.
The difference this time was that he reached out and pulled Yao Guang into his embrace, gently tapping her heart with his fingers. Upon hearing this, Yao Guang's eyes lit up instantly, and she nodded eagerly.
"Then let's go see together!" Yan Fei said as he swept Yao Guang off her feet and gently tossed her onto the bed, following suit as he pressed down on her.
"Hey? Wait... Ah!" Yao Guang exclaimed in surprise.
Eventually, after their encounter, Yao Guang fell into a deep sleep from exhaustion, completely unaware of the faint red marks appearing around her wrist.
The color of those marks deepened and became more pronounced until they revealed themselves as a Heart Knot bracelet woven from red string.
"Look, isn't this perfect?" Yan Fei tenderly brushed aside her disheveled hair and gently took her wrist, placing a kiss on the bracelet.
After all, a homebody is still a homebody.
After spending some time in this other world, Yao Guang's iPad battery had run out again, leaving her bored to the point of counting mosquitoes every day.
Whenever she was bored, Second Young Master Yan found himself in a heap of trouble.
Yao Guang had whispered plenty of bad things about Second Young Master Yan to Yan Fei while lying beside him—things like being violent, rude, and not studying—which led to Second Young Master Yan being grounded recently. He couldn't go out and was stuck with Yao Guang watching over him like a warden.
"Hey, can't you find something else to do? Like needlework or something?" Second Young Master Yan asked. He had plans to meet someone for dinner at Ao Xiang tower, and as time ticked away, he was trying to figure out how to escape.
"Call me big sister!" Yao Guang threw a peanut shell at him in annoyance and sighed dramatically, "Needlework isn't for me at all, sigh..."
"What is for you then?" Second Young Master Yan asked helplessly.
"Games, novels, comics, Korean dramas, Thai dramas..." Yao Guang rattled off a long list before deflating like a punctured balloon and resting her head on the table. Life without a computer was just too hard to bear.
If it weren't for Yan Fei refusing to accept long-distance relationships and dismissing the saying "occasional meetings are better than newlyweds," she would have run back to the modern world long ago instead of being bored out of her mind here. She couldn't help but wonder when he would finally have time to take her back for a honeymoon.
As she pondered this while tossing peanut shells, the table quickly piled up with them. Second Young Master Yan's eyes lit up with an idea as he said, "How about going on a treasure hunt?"
"Tomb raiding?" Yao Guang's eyes sparkled at the mention, but they dimmed again when she heard Second Young Master Yan's response wasn't what she hoped.
"My brother... recently set up a Small Vault at the residence." Second Young Master Yan leaned in closer and whispered conspiratorially into Yao Guang's ear, "It's in the West Courtyard. If you're feeling bored, why not check it out?"
The idea of exploring a Small Vault sounded intriguing. Yao Guang immediately perked up and hurried off towards the West Courtyard.
To her surprise, she stumbled upon an incredible discovery there.
It was a secret room that looked exactly like her home in the modern world. Most importantly, there was a Computer inside!
Her eyes widened in disbelief as she rushed over to the Computer, unable to contain her excitement as she eagerly powered it on, marveling at the sight before her.
"Wow, it actually has Windows installed!"
"And Office too!"
"It can even go online!"
"I can't believe it can watch PPS!"
"It can even play 'Sword Immortal'!"
"Even the saved files are just like the ones on my old computer... This is basically my modern home! Yan Fei actually moved my entire house here; it's just too cool!"
She excitedly ran around looking for Yan's mansion. As soon as she saw him, she jumped into his arms and exclaimed, " Yan Fei, I really love you so much!"
From the looks of it, his birthday surprise had been revealed early. Yan Fei couldn't help but tease, "Do you love me, or do you love that room?"
"Of course I love you! I love you to bits!" Yao Guang said as she cupped Yan Fei's face and gave him several quick kisses. Then she dashed back, saying, "You get busy; I'll wait for you over there!"
She must be too eager to play games, right? Yan Fei shook his head helplessly.
But then again, seeing her so happy made it all worth it. He had exhausted all his efforts to create a small space that connected her modern home with this world and the other.
