Chu Yuning's fingers trembled slightly, the cold touch of the Bronze Mirror bringing her muddled consciousness back to some semblance of clarity. 0

She lifted her head, feeling the wild wind whip against her face, carrying with it fine grains of sand. In the distance, the skyline was shrouded in a layer of gray mist, as if this desolate land was all that remained between heaven and earth. 0

Her steps were unsteady, yet she continued to move forward with determination. The Bronze Mirror in her hand began to warm slightly, as if it were trying to remind her of something important. 0

Suddenly, a low, howling sound echoed from behind her. Chu Yuning halted, her body instinctively tensing up. She slowly turned around, her gaze sweeping across the edge of the wilderness. 0

Several dark figures emerged from the mist, gradually becoming clearer. They were tall and imposing, their skin covered in scale-like patterns, and their eyes glowed with an eerie green light, reminiscent of ghostly flames in the night. 0

"At last, we found you," said the leader of the shadows, his voice hoarse and laced with mockery. "The traitor of the demon realm should come back with us." 0

Chu Yuning's pupils constricted slightly as her fingers instinctively tightened around the Bronze Mirror. 0

Fragments of memories flashed through her mind—towering palaces in the demon realm, cold chains binding her, countless hostile eyes glaring at her. 0

But these images vanished as quickly as they appeared, like smoke scattered by the wind, leaving her unable to grasp any further details. 0

"I don't remember you," she replied in a low voice, tinged with caution. 0

"Don't remember?" The shadow let out a cold laugh, his voice grating like sandpaper. "Do you think being reborn allows you to escape punishment? The rules of the demon realm are not so easily broken." 0

Before he finished speaking, the shadow lunged at Chu Yuning with lightning speed, almost too fast for anyone to react. 0

Instinctively, Chu Yuning leaped backward to evade the attack. 0

Her fingers traced the air, and a faint azure light shot out from the Bronze Mirror, striking the shadow in the chest. 0

The shadow let out a muffled grunt, his form swaying slightly before quickly stabilizing. 0

A flicker of surprise crossed his eyes, soon replaced by a more ferocious glare. "It seems your strength is beginning to recover, but it's still not enough." 0

More shadows surged from the mist, surrounding Chu Yuning completely. 0

Their attacks came like a torrential storm, and Chu Yuning's body darted around the confined space as the light from the Bronze Mirror flickered erratically in her hands. 0

With each attack, she felt the power within her gradually awakening, but it also brought a tearing pain that coursed through her. 0

"Why are you... capturing me?" Chu Yuning's voice was laced with breathlessness, her fingers trembling slightly as the light from the Bronze Mirror dimmed and brightened. 0

"Because you have betrayed the demon realm," the shadow's voice was icy and piercing. "You fell in love with a human and even attempted to disrupt the balance between our worlds. This is an unforgivable crime." 0

Fleeting images flashed through Chu Yuning's mind—an image of a human man, his smile warm and familiar. 0

But those images were like reflections in water, shattering at the slightest touch. 0

"I don't remember..." Her voice was low, tinged with helplessness. 0

"It doesn't matter if you don't remember," the shadow's tone was cold and unyielding. "Your very existence is a threat. The demon realm has no need for traitors like you." 0

Before he finished speaking, the shadow launched another attack, this time with greater speed and strength. 0

Chu Yuning's body was pushed to the brink, her fingers tracing through the air as the light of the Bronze Mirror erupted, forcing the shadow back several steps. 0

But her strength was nearly exhausted, and her body swayed precariously. 0

Her fingers trembled slightly, and the light of the Bronze Mirror began to dim. A glimmer of triumph flashed in the shadow's eyes as it slowly advanced toward her. 0

"It’s over," the shadow's voice was icy. 0

At that moment, a silver beam of light shot in from the distance, striking directly at the shadow's chest. 0

The shadow's body stiffened abruptly before collapsing to the ground. Chu Yuning lifted her head and saw a figure emerging from the mist. 0

He was tall and slender, wielding a silver longsword that shimmered with a faint glow, like moonlight solidified. 0

"Who are you?" Chu Yuning's voice carried a hint of caution. 0

"Xuan Qing," the man's voice was calm as water, his gaze resting on her face filled with concern. "I'm sorry I'm late. I won't let you get hurt again. From now on, we will live in peace under assumed names, and no one will disturb us." 0

Chu Yuning's body quivered slightly as fragmented images flashed through her mind—a man's silhouette, his voice deep and familiar. 0

"Xuan Qing, I remember everything..." Chu Yuning gazed at Xuan Qing's familiar face and threw herself into his embrace, overwhelmed by pain. 0
