Ye Ming, Chen Zhi, and Lin Yin all hurried over, each one filled with excitement.
Ding Yan looked at Ye Ming and Lin Yin, feeling somewhat shocked. She considered herself a stunning beauty, but in comparison to Ye Ming and Lin Yin, she felt inadequate. Both Ye Ming and Lin Yin had been immersed in the Spiritual Energy of Quiet Villa for quite some time, their skin naturally smooth and radiant. Especially Ye Ming, with her Spirit Serpent Physique, it was no surprise that Ding Yan felt outclassed.
"Young Master, have you eaten?" Lin Yin asked, addressing Jiang Chen without calling him Master since she saw herself merely as a caretaker.
"I've eaten. By the way, let me introduce you; this is Ding Yan from the Black Sky Assassins Organization," Jiang Chen said.
Ye Ming and the others were not surprised. After Jiang Chen introduced Ding Yan to them, he turned to Ye Ming and said, "Ming'er, you should learn from Ding Yan. You've been cultivating for over half a year now; your strength in martial arts can rival that of the Master of Transformation. When you have time in the future, I’ll arrange for you to train."
"Master, what can I learn from Sister Ding Yan? She's a killer," Ye Ming asked quietly.
"Killing!" Jiang Chen replied.
"Ah? Kill? Master, can I not learn that? I don’t want to kill anyone," Ye Ming exclaimed in shock. As a good girl, she was understandably terrified of killing.
Even Lin Yin, despite her past as part of the Qinghua Organization where she had participated in assassinations, didn’t want to kill either. If the Qinghua Organization had been liberated by Director Hao, Lin Yin had decided to leave that life behind.
"No way. In the future, killing will be just a part of your daily life. You need to learn to adapt; in this world, if you don’t kill others, they will kill you. Don’t be naive; only the strong can survive," Jiang Chen said sternly.
Ye Ming fell silent. Although she was terrified of killing, she couldn’t argue with Jiang Chen's words.
Ding Yan interjected, "Actually, there’s no need to learn how to kill. I became an assassin out of necessity; your disciple is so beautiful and lovely—she’s not suited for such violence."
"You don’t understand. Alright, Lin Yin, help Ding Yan arrange a room. Also, let Jiang Luyi know to come see me tomorrow," Jiang Chen instructed before heading back to his room to rest.
After Jiang Chen left, the atmosphere relaxed slightly. Ye Ming and the others were curious about Ding Yan since being an assassin carried an air of mystery.
"Sister Ding Yan, tell us about being an assassin," Ye Ming urged like a curious child.
"It’s pretty much like what you see in movies," Ding Yan replied.
"How did you meet my master? His standards are quite high," Ye Ming asked again.
"I met him on the flight to Shanghai today; it's a long story. By the way, be careful from now on—I’ll be honest with you: I’m currently being hunted," Ding Yan said seriously.
"Don’t worry, Sister Ding Yan; now that you're here, no one can chase you down," Ye Ming reassured her with a smile.
"I'm just afraid of dragging you into this mess. If they find out I'm staying here, your peace will be disrupted," Ding Yan said with concern.
"Jie, you probably don't know how safe it is here. Outsiders can't get in at all," Ye Ming said with a smile, full of confidence in the security of Quiet Villa.
