As Jiang Chen was about to retract his spiritual sense, it was suddenly stirred. He quickly locked onto the target.
In a private club, a lavish party was underway. A beautifully dressed, alluring foreign woman was linked arm in arm with a man in his fifties, welcoming the guests. This foreign woman was Yelina, and beside her stood a mixed-race boy of about ten years old; she was celebrating her son's birthday today.

After watching, Ding Yan snapped back to reality, staring blankly for a long time. Seeing the scene unfold before her, she felt conflicted—was she supposed to feel joy or sorrow? She had always believed her mother was living poorly, which gave her a reason to convince herself that her mother's absence was due to hardship. But now, seeing that her mother had started a new family and was living well with a son who had grown so much, her heart felt pierced.
"I want to see my mother tomorrow," Ding Yan said softly, her tone complex with mixed emotions.
"No need to wait until tomorrow; let's go now," Jiang Chen replied.
"Won't it disturb her? There are so many people here. I want to talk to her privately," Ding Yan expressed her concerns.
"You should recognize your mother in front of everyone. You are her daughter; there’s no need for secrecy. If she can't acknowledge you in public, then all your efforts to find her would be in vain," Jiang Chen stated.
Ding Yan nodded, feeling that Jiang Chen's reasoning made sense.
At the entrance of the private club, Jiang Chen and Ding Yan got out of the taxi.
Yelina's current husband was Zhao Hun, a wealthy man from Aodao. The Zhao family had been established in Aodao for generations. Zhao Hun had once been a notorious playboy but became infatuated with Yelina after meeting her by chance. Back then, Yelina struggled to survive in Aodao, making ends meet by dancing in bars. When Zhao Hun pursued her, she accepted without hesitation and became his mistress for many years. After Zhao Hun's divorce, she finally gained recognition as his partner and bore him a mixed-race son, which delighted him immensely. Yelina was obedient and never interfered with his affairs; even when he flirted with other women, she showed no objection. This trait endeared her to Zhao Hun even more.
Powerful men often favored women like Yelina who were unassuming and ungrasping.
"What are you two doing here? Do you have an invitation?" Two bouncers blocked Jiang Chen and Ding Yan at the entrance.
Jiang Chen flicked his fingers, and spiritual energy enveloped the bouncers' eyes. They briefly lost their sight and were dazed as Jiang Chen and Ding Yan walked unobstructed into the club.
Once inside the party venue, Jiang Chen didn’t rush Ding Yan to confront her mother; it was better to observe first.
"Mr. Jiang, that man over there is my father! I can't believe he's here," Ding Yan said through gritted teeth as she scanned the room and locked onto a middle-aged man.
"Do you hate your father?" Jiang Chen followed Ding Yan's gaze toward the man. He looked well-preserved for someone in his thirties and was embracing a younger woman's waist while raising his glass in socializing—a true figure of high society.
