Yun Zhi Yue looked at Yue Tong with a gaze that lingered in his mind. Despite having known her since childhood, there was suddenly an unfamiliarity between them. When did he stop being able to understand her so easily?
That evening, Yun Zhi Yue still had to host a welcome gathering for Yue Tong. Zhou Yu, aware that the two had something to discuss, chose not to intrude any longer. Once the others arrived to pick them up, he discreetly stepped aside.
As soon as they were alone in the car, the lightheartedness that had filled the air just moments before vanished. Nan Jing stared at the girl beside him and tentatively spoke up, "What about us?"
Yun Zhi Yue leaned against the car window, not even turning her head as she replied, "You can just kiss me; let's leave it at that." Her refusal was unmistakable.
Nan Jing, though expecting this response, felt a pang of disappointment. "Do you really have no feelings for me at all?"
Yun Zhi Yue turned to him, her eyes serious as she countered, "What feelings? When I hug you or get close to you, it's out of the bond we formed growing up together. Nan Jing, you know that we are like siblings."
"I don’t know what made you develop these feelings, but it’s wrong. When you kiss me, I feel like I’m betraying something—do you understand?"
"Come on, I can't listen to this anymore. Yun Zhi Yue, you're such a tease," he thought to himself. "Just shut up and let me show you how it’s done. I’ve learned from those who are deeply infatuated and willing to sink into the depths of despair; my methods are varied."
Nan Jing didn’t back down or feel hurt; instead, he leaned closer. "I don’t believe you."
Yun Zhi Yue recoiled slightly. "What do you not believe? What do you want from me?"
Nan Jing continued to close the distance between them until his shoulder pressed against her resisting hand. His tone was resolute: "Let’s try again; I want to see if you really feel nothing."
"Get away from me!" she exclaimed.
But as she struggled and moved her hands, he grasped them tightly. Nan Jing's solid frame pinned her down as his lips met hers once more.
He didn’t rush into deepening the kiss; instead, he took his time, licking and kissing gently. Who could resist such charm from a handsome guy? If she didn’t react, it must be something wrong with her.
Gradually, her struggles weakened, and a rosy hue crept into her eyes. The defiance that had been there transformed into confusion, like a lost fawn wandering through the woods.
Nan Jing watched intently and, seeing this change in her demeanor, loosened his grip on her wrists slightly. He then coaxed open her lips with his tongue and began to explore deeper.
The collision of their tongues sent a shiver through both of them, the earlier tenderness transforming into a sudden downpour.
Inside the car, with only the two of them, the temperature continued to rise. The coolness of the belt against her lower abdomen brought Yun Zhi Yue back to her senses. Realizing she was holding onto Nan Jing, she felt a mix of reluctance and embarrassment wash over her, wishing she could just disappear.
Damn it, all the theories she had heard in the underworld didn’t prepare her for this practical experience; she couldn’t hold back at all. Those lingering souls hadn’t warned her how intoxicating this could be!
At that moment, Yun Zhi Yue found her top missing, allowing Nan Jing’s large hands to roam over her body, inching closer to the metal clasp at her back.
“Stop!” Yun Zhi Yue exclaimed urgently.
To her surprise, Nan Jing actually withdrew his hand and gently teased her cheek with one finger.
With a smirk on his face, he said, “No feelings? Just like siblings? Then how do you explain this?”
Taking a deep breath, Yun Zhi Yue feigned annoyance. “That was just me enjoying your looks! If it were someone handsome, I wouldn’t be able to resist either. This has nothing to do with you being Nan Jing, got it?”
“Not really,” he replied, “I feel like you have some intentions there. But I don’t understand why you insist on rejecting me. Is it because of Zhou Yu or Yue Tong?”
