Yun Zhi Yue laughed for a few minutes before picking up her brush again, treating the earlier story as nothing more than a joke, letting it slip away. 0

Yue Tong, not one to be overly curious, focused seriously on guiding her painting, and before they knew it, the closing time had arrived. The two of them began to tidy up and decided to grab dinner on the way. 0

Yue Tong smiled and asked, "Are things going well between you and Nan Jing? I hope he doesn’t show up again and disrupt my slim chances. I’m not good at competing with others." 0

Yun Zhi Yue suddenly replied, "You're lying. You're actually quite good at competing with others, usually resorting to any means necessary, caring only about the outcome and not the process." 0

Yue Tong was taken aback, a shadow crossing her eyes. She tentatively said, "Yun Zhi Yue, do you have some misunderstanding about me? I just like you." 0

Yun Zhi Yue smiled brightly, "I was just joking. You took it seriously. Come on, that place with the sauced bones is great; I want two servings." 0

Yue Tong studied the playful girl for a moment, confirming there was no unusual expression before leading her toward the restaurant. 0

On the way, she casually glanced at a corner. 0

After finishing their meal, it was already past six in the afternoon. Yue Tong offered to take Yun Zhi Yue home but was met with refusal. 0

"It's fine; I won’t trouble you. I called my driver during dinner," Yun Zhi Yue said. "Yue Tong, don’t waste your thoughts on me; I won’t like you." 0

With that hint of doubt in her heart, she wouldn’t allow herself to fall into that trap again. 0

Yue Tong looked at her with longing and said, "Yun Zhi Yue, you really are straightforward, but that makes me want to hold on even more. You have the right not to like me, but liking you is my right, isn’t it?" 0

Yun Zhi Yue replied expressionlessly, "Do as you wish." 0

Just then, a familiar car drove by as Yun Zhi Yue stepped aside to wait. At that moment, Yue Tong shouted, "Yun Zhi Yue! Get down!" 0

Before Yun Zhi Yue could react to what was happening, Yue Tong tightly embraced her as blood dripped from her mouth onto her pristine shirt, blooming vividly. 0

Sun Xiaoyue stood there with a dagger in hand, her expression frenzied: "Yun Zhi Yue! You ruined my life! Die! Just die!" 0

Around them, gasps echoed: "Oh no! Someone's been killed!" 0

"Call the police! Call the police!" 0

"There's so much blood! Is that person still alive?" 0

The driver of the Yun Family got out of the car, his face pale as he kicked away those who were still trying to find an opportunity to stab Yun Zhi Yue and Sun Xiaoyue. The sound of police and ambulance sirens filled the air, but it did nothing to bring Yun Zhi Yue back to her senses. She could only feel the cold pain constricting her wrist, her vision consumed by the vibrant red of the plum blossom shirt. 0

Nan Jing and Zhou Yu, who had just returned to Beijing a short while ago, arrived at the hospital almost simultaneously with Yun Family Parents. Yun Zhi Yue sat on the floor outside the Emergency Room, her clothes in tatters and stained with blood, her expression dazed. 0

A group of doctors was continuously trying to persuade her, but despite the significant blood loss, Yue Tong stubbornly held on. Blood continued to seep from the corner of her mouth, yet she firmly gripped Yun Zhi Yue's wrist, refusing to let go. 0

Wearing a surgical gown, a doctor with an anxious expression said, "This patient has lost too much blood and needs surgery immediately. We cannot delay; it could cost lives. We can talk later." 0

Even though they had already heard over the phone that Yun Zhi Yue was fine and that Yue Tong had been stabbed twice, seeing their conditions in person made Yun Fu stagger backward. Gathering his composure, he urged, "Yue Tong, let go quickly. Whatever it is, we can talk about it; Yun Zhi Yue is right here at the door and won't leave." 0

Yue Tong merely shook her head slightly. Her clothes were once again soaked with blood as she weakly yet resolutely said, "I'm afraid it won't be in time." 0

"Yun Zhi Yue, those days I spent at your home during high school were the happiest days of my life. I may not have liked to talk much, but I watched you every day. You grew towards the sun while I could only shrink back into the shadows, afraid of the light yet unwilling to look away." 0
