What? Yun Xiaoxiao trembled with anger.
At this point, Yao Li glanced awkwardly at Yun Xiaoxiao and Jian Qin, seemingly unsure whether to continue. After hesitating, he spoke up, "I've always found it strange that Yun Zhi Yue has an older sister and an uncle, yet she has to bear such a heavy burden alone."
Back then, I felt powerless and thought the situation was set in stone. I never expected Shengshi Entertainment to rise up out of nowhere. Their first move was to strike at our company without hesitation, until our boss went bankrupt and jumped off a building under the weight of enormous debt.
Even though I knew their methods were extreme, Yun Xiaoxiao still breathed a sigh of relief at that moment. She couldn't bear to think about how Yun Zhi Yue managed to endure it all alone back then.
Yao Li shot a glance at Yun Xiaoxiao. "You’re relaxing too soon."
Yun Xiaoxiao looked over, puzzled. "What do you mean?"
Yao Li sighed. "Although your sister always seems to make things worse, I believe you care about Yun Zhi Yue. Have you ever looked into her assets? She’s been famous for so long; not to mention the funds she has, even her house belongs to the company. Don’t you find that strange?"
Yun Xiaoxiao recalled the day they gambled on stones when Yun Zhi Yue sent a message saying those things. Clenching her fists, she gritted her teeth. "Nie Yi!"
Yao Li shook his head. "I just can’t stand by and watch. I hope someone helps Yun Zhi Yue. The situation is still ongoing, and all of Yun Zhi Yue's earnings are in Nie Zong's hands. I don’t know much about Nie Zong’s background, but it must be complicated. No matter how powerful he is, he shouldn’t bully people like this."
"Today, I hope you won’t tell Yun Zhi Yue. She doesn’t like complaining to others; I just want to show my concern."
After saying this, Yao Li fell silent and moved to the front of the vehicle to give them some space.
The car remained quiet.
How complicated could Nie Yi's background be?
Yao Li meant well in wanting to help them, but this kind of help isn’t something you can just offer casually.
Ji Yan asked in confusion, "How did she even meet Nie Yi?"
Lu Chuan frowned. "After that incident, all information about Nie Yi was sealed off; no one dared to investigate or could find anything out."
He only appeared in everyone’s view when Shengshi Entertainment was established, and by then, Yun Zhi Yue was already part of Prosperous Era.
Ji Yan rubbed his forehead. "What kind of twisted fate is this? Spending the money that girl worked so hard for is truly inhumane."
This girl is already worn out from exhaustion; I just can’t understand whether he’s protecting her or tormenting her.
Lu Chuan shook his head, "He hasn't been normal for a long time."
Inside the car, Yun Xiaoxiao kept twisting her hands, as if she were sitting on fire. Several times she looked at Jian Qin, wanting to say something, but swallowed her words instead. The tension was palpable; even a blind person could tell what she wanted to express.
Jian Qin remained largely unresponsive, perhaps sensing the answer. Gradually, Yun Xiaoxiao stopped moving, her face devoid of the joy it had held earlier.
After entering the venue early, the group settled into the front row. The view of the stage was excellent, but amidst the deafening cheers from behind, they sat in silence as if attending a meeting.
Soon, the host took the stage and said a few opening words. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as they awaited Yun Zhi Yue's opening performance.
Dressed in a white strapless gown adorned with pearl-like ripples, her shoulders and slender waist were prominently displayed. The lower half featured a completely sheer white skirt layered over a pure white mini skirt. She wore pristine white high heels that accentuated her long legs, making her an eye-catching presence.
To match Ice City's reputation, Yun Zhi Yue's makeup leaned towards a cooler palette, perfectly complementing her naturally icy aura.
As soon as she appeared, the crowd erupted into frenzied cheers, her name echoing throughout the venue.
Seeing her younger sister, Yun Xiaoxiao perked up and waved her support stick enthusiastically at Yun Zhi Yue.
Noticing Yun Xiaoxiao's reddened eyes, Yun Zhi Yue paused for a moment—why was she crying again?
As the music began to play, there was no time for further thought; her distinctive voice accompanied by graceful movements filled the air.
Yun Zhi Yue immersed herself wholeheartedly in the performance, striving to present her best self to her fans.
The stage lights shone brightly around her; she resembled a singular moon in the sky—no matter how many stars surrounded her, she remained the most dazzling of them all.
This was Jian Qin's first time truly watching Yun Zhi Yue with intent.
