As the two of them continued to grapple, their faces flushed with intensity, the onlookers contemplated whether they should intervene. Yun Zhi Yue's assistant rushed forward to separate Nie Yi and Zhang Song. Since the show was live, no one dared to speak up.
Zhang Song raised three fingers between the two, lowering them one by one. When he finally retracted the last finger, both Nie Yi and Zhang Song simultaneously released their grips and began to cough. It was clear that they were no strangers to such scuffles; those around them had grown accustomed to it.
With his subordinates swiftly adjusting his outfit, Nie Yi, with his neatly trimmed short hair, returned to his seat first. Yun Zhi Yue also had her hair quickly styled before she took her place at the table. When the camera turned back to them, it captured a scene of everyone eating and drinking as if nothing had happened.
After the altercation, Nie Yi felt a sense of relief and stopped provoking trouble, settling down to eat. Yun Zhi Yue also lowered her head in silence, as if she hadn’t been the one talking so much just moments ago.
Anyone with keen eyes could see that Nie Yi had definitely gone easy on her. A man like him wouldn’t pull hair or tug ears like a girl would during a fight. This kind of indulgent behavior created an atmosphere between them that felt impenetrable.
Jian Qin picked up a piece of honey-glazed abalone and offered it to Yun Zhi Yue's lips. "You like sweet things; this should suit your taste." He had observed her closely this month, even knowing her preference for sweets.
Seeing Jian Qin use his chopsticks to feed her, Yun Zhi Yue hesitated for a moment, wondering if she should open her mouth. His gentle gaze lacked any pressure but somehow made it impossible for her to refuse.
Yun Zhi Yue slightly parted her lips, allowing the abalone to be placed in her mouth while Jian Qin continued eating from his own bowl as if nothing unusual was happening.
Nie Yi’s previously relaxed expression darkened in an instant, his chopsticks snapping in half from the tension. "Nie Zong needs a new pair of chopsticks; the old ones won’t do," he muttered bitterly.
Ji Yan couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the scene unfolding before them. It was clear that a declaration of war had been made; seeing the seemingly opposing yet intimate interaction between Jian Qin and Yun Zhi Yue made him restless as well.
Nie Yi smiled darkly, "In my hands, she belongs to me. Even if I break her, she won't leave."
Without changing her chopsticks, she continued to eat with the broken ones. Yun Zhi Yue didn’t even glance at them, and she wasn’t surprised by Nie Yi’s comment. However, Yun Xiaoxiao seemed unusually quiet today.
Silently eating, Lu Chuan occasionally served her dishes with gentle care, which made Yun Zhi Yue realize something. She took a deep breath. Wasn’t it just that their sisters were a bit plump? Everyone wanted to take a bite.
“Hey, my clothes are dirty. Can you help me change?”
“Huh? Oh, sure.”
Yun Xiaoxiao stood up, her clumsy hands caught on the edge of the table, and Lu Chuan reached out to help her adjust.
“Stop!” Yun Zhi Yue slapped his hand away without hesitation.
She tidied up Yun Xiaoxiao’s clothes herself and said warmly, “Look at you, can’t even take care of yourself. Why come to help me?”
Jiang Lu was busy with military affairs and couldn’t play little girl games with them; she advised not to trouble him next time.
Yun Xiaoxiao mumbled an agreement and pulled Yun Zhi Yue away.
Jiang Lu? The moon calls Lu Chuan uncle; are they relatives or is it just a respectful term for an elder? Jian Qin, Ji Yan, Nie Yi, and Lu Chuan were all of the same generation. If that’s how it was counted, there was quite a gap in seniority; haha, I actually feel more amused by this.
Lu Chuan looked at his reddened hand with a confused expression. Ji Yan felt that this meal was truly unappetizing; his peach blossom eyes sparkled with laughter as if he might burst from it.
Ke Fan watched from the side, thinking that this person had such low standards for humor; he couldn’t quite grasp what was so funny.
Since Yun Zhi Yue and Nie Yi started bickering, Han Ling had kept her head down and remained silent, her eyes filled with turbulent waves. Their closeness was something she couldn’t comprehend. It was difficult for her to compete; only those at the top understood how significant Si Tai's influence was, and the four of them seemed to have a deep bond with these sisters.
Should she continue?
In the changing room, Yun Zhi Yue subtly probed into Yun Xiaoxiao’s unusually quiet demeanor today. She initially thought it might be something inappropriate that Lu Chuan did, but it turned out to be her sister’s doing.
Yun Xiaoxiao clutched her heart and said sadly, “Yun Zhi Yue, I feel like I won’t live much longer. What will you do when I’m gone?”
Yun Zhi Yue replied, “Let’s talk about it.”
Today, while playing trampoline with Jiang Lu, we held hands. Logically speaking, I didn't exert myself too much, yet my heart was beating irregularly.
What a small amount of exercise this is, and I'm already like this. I have a feeling there might be something wrong with my heart. Sister, I'm still young; this is just too short-lived.
