Yun Zhi Yue was tired of the incessant chatter and quickly said, "Sister, I'm busy. I'll contact you later. Bye."
Sighing, Yue Yue thought about how William's voice had vanished with the call, while the wedding continued on.
"Finally, a whole number for the strategy level. Now for the decimal point," Shi Ye remarked, feeling dizzy from all the numbers.
At the wedding, there were only two seats occupied. Ji Yan, with a smile in her eyes, said, "Really now, the opponents you attract are never simple. Be careful; if you let your guard down, someone else might snatch your kite."
Jian Qinzhi remained as calm as ever, sitting quietly in this grand wedding hall as if he were in a serene corner of the world.
Without any unnecessary emotion, he replied, "I know what I'm doing. But I never expected you to come out."
Ji Yan's expression changed slightly, but he didn't argue; he tacitly accepted the term "coming out."
Sometimes he wondered if that variety show "Love Paradise" had some kind of magic. At least it had brought these people together. Even Han Ling had been affected; after suffering a blow from Nie Yi, she got drunk one night and ended up tangled with a co-star from that show. They were still entangled to this day.
It was bizarre how Li Fan, that little groundhog, had gotten mixed up in all this too. The key moment was when he playfully flirted with her. If someone had told him back then that he would come out, he would have secretly dealt with them. But now he could only say that life was unpredictable.
On this side of the country, Yun Zhi Yue finished filming and finally managed to send off William, who buzzed around like a bee. William was her fan; whenever she held concerts in various countries, he would follow her around. Given his status, she couldn't offend him and occasionally chatted with him.
However, he clung to her like glue—not just attending concerts but also lingering backstage. It was mildly annoying but not as twisted as Nie Yi's behavior; she just needed to leave his territory as soon as the concert was over.
But even bees had their uses; they helped boost her popularity.
Yun Zhi Yue smiled as she wrapped up her work and returned to her temporary residence in the country. She didn't want to stay in a hotel, so her manager rented a quaint little courtyard decorated in a medieval retro style for her. The surroundings were safe and secure, which she appreciated.
However, outside the courtyard, she saw a man who should have been at the wedding leaning against his car door waiting for her. Yun Zhi Yue felt dazed for a moment, experiencing an absurd sense of time and space confusion.
Stunned for a moment, she opened the door.
Snapping back to reality, Yun Zhi Yue took out her keys and opened the door in surprise. "How is this possible? In such a short time, how did you get here?"
Jian Qinzhi replied calmly, "Ling Hang Jun's reputation isn't for nothing. I can be anywhere at any time."
"You hung up the phone for just a minute; I was already on the plane. What's so surprising about that?"
As she walked in, Jian Shu casually sat down on her sofa and patted the space beside her. "Come over."
Yun Zhi Yue's lips twitched. "Jian Shu, aren't you being a bit rude? This is my home, and you're acting like it's your territory."
Jian Qinzhi echoed, "Come over."
With no choice, she walked over and sat down. "You came all this way just to talk to me about something?"
"Not really. It's been a year and a half since we last met. I just wanted to see you. Even after the breakup, I'm still your Jian Shu. Are you feeling awkward?"
Yun Zhi Yue raised an eyebrow. "Why would I feel awkward? You know I can take it or leave it. I've never sought anything romantic."
"Well, that's good to hear."
[The level of strategy here is amusing; on the surface, everything seems calm, but inside, I could just strangle you.]
Yun Zhi Yue secretly chuckled. If it weren't for the Reincarnation Stone as her cheat, she really wouldn't be able to see through Jian Qinzhi. For now, though, she was the one in the dark.
