Feeling the gaze of two pairs of dark green eyes upon her, Yun Zhi Yue quickly waved her hand and said, "Forget about the mates; I have them."
"I know the medicinal properties of every plant in this forest. If you ever feel unwell, you can come to me."
The Snake Tribe Leader smiled broadly, "That's wonderful! Great Priestess, you can rest while they clean up the battlefield. With so many Eagle Tribe corpses, this winter will be much easier for us in the Serpent Clan."
The two men and their snakes returned to their usual dwelling, only to be met by a furious little female.
Yun Zhi Yue grabbed anything she could find to throw at the two men, shouting, "Brothers? Identical? Are you trying to fool me?"
One man held his waist while the other restrained his arms, both speaking in unison, "Calm down."
Yun Zhi Yue's eyes turned red with anger. "Calm down? How can I calm down? You are being unreasonable!"
Mo Ran chuckled, "Yun Zhi Yue, are you angry because we didn't explain things clearly, or because we’ve both mated with you? That's perfectly normal; in beast tribes, a female having only one male is considered abnormal."
Yun Zhi Yue covered her face. "I just can't handle it."
The two brothers exchanged serious glances. Mo Li spoke up, "Yun Zhi Yue, if you're serious about this, we will fight until one of us dies. The survivor will stay with you."
Yun Zhi Yue immediately dropped her hands. "Why take it to such extremes? I just can't accept having two of you; I’m not saying I want you dead."
Mo Li replied earnestly, "That's how beast tribes operate. A female rejecting her mates will be hunted down by other males until she is dead."
Yun Zhi Yue was speechless. "Then forget it; it’s already like this, but I can't tell you apart. Who is Mo Li and who is Mo Ran?"
Mo Ran smirked, "There's no need to distinguish between us. We have the same number of scales; no one can tell us apart. Any name would do for you."
This sparked Yun Zhi Yue's curiosity; there couldn't possibly be two identical beings in this world.
"You both turn into snakes—shrink a bit! I want to count your scales and see if you really have the same number."
Mo Li and Mo Ran exchanged glances before transforming into snakes and coiling around Yun Zhi Yue, even slipping into her Beast Skin clothing.
Yun Zhi Yue squealed as she tried to pull them out but found them tightening their grip instead. The scales brushed against her sensitive skin, causing her to collapse onto the ground. After a shameful struggle that left her in tears, the two snakes finally lay stiffly before her like planks.
As she pinched their tails in frustration while counting their scales, she gradually became drowsy and eventually fell asleep holding onto the two snakes. At that moment, she felt as if she was no longer afraid of serpents.
Once she was asleep, the two snakes slithered into her Beast Skin collar and coiled up in their favorite spots, closing their eyes as well.
Meanwhile, in Skyfeather City, a figure stumbled back to kneel before the Eagle Tribe Leader at the peak of a towering spire that pierced the clouds. Bowing deeply to the man dressed in red on the throne, he trembled uncontrollably, showing no signs of aggression towards the fierce Serpent Clan.
The man sitting high above had a slender body, his lines exuding a striking beauty. His already handsome features were accentuated by the fiery red eyeliner that swept dramatically across his eyes, enhancing his enchanting allure.
Yan Lue toyed with the red feathers on his garment and smirked, "Are you saying that there is a female from the Serpent Clan who can manipulate the forest plants, leading to your entire army being trapped and defeated?"
The Eagle Tribe Leader immediately replied, "Yes, Your Majesty. That female has a very strange aura; she lacks the unpleasant scent typical of beasts and instead carries a fragrance more akin to the forest. It seems she has become a companion to those two twisted brothers from the Serpent Clan."
Tsk, it sounds quite interesting. I would very much like to see for myself.
