The beastmen vying for the position of Beast King saw this and charged forward. They had never been friendly with Kong Yu, and now that the Beast King had taken action, they naturally could not just stand by and watch.
These individuals were elite members of the beast tribe, and the chance to compete for the title of Beast King was not something mere foot soldiers could compare to. Although Yan Lue did not retreat, his face grew even paler.
His gaze turned colder as his body transformed into the Phoenix form. Flames surged more violently around him, and massive fiery wings unfurled behind him. After this wave of impact, very few could still stand.
Bear King let out a furious roar, his body towering as muscles bulged as if they would burst through his skin. His massive form reached out with a hand towards Yan Lue's flapping body.
The speed of this attack increased, but the Phoenix was a Flying Beast, and its agility was beyond question. Yan Lue dodged swiftly while seizing the opportunity to strike back, his sharp claws nearly blinding Xiong Lie.
Although he didn’t gouge out an eye, it was clear that the eyes were a vulnerable spot, blood gushing from around the eyelids. After a painful roar, Xiong Lie pounded his chest like a gorilla, entering a frenzied state where he no longer distinguished between friend and foe, wildly tearing at Yan Lue.
At this moment, anyone who got too close would be at risk of being mistakenly killed, leaving only the two kings in battle.
After exchanging glances with his brother Mo Ran, Chuan Yi and Hou Yuan discreetly withdrew from the battlefield, heading towards the Bear Tribe’s inner sanctum with plans to seize Shengxi Guo amidst the chaos. Today’s events could not end peacefully; they decided to go all in.
Due to the battle attracting too much attention and with Hou Yuan’s skills in gathering intelligence, obtaining Shengxi Guo did not take them long.
When they returned to the scene, they found their Beast King from Azure Tower Continent, Xiong Lie, severely injured within a short time. His Phoenix form had only partially materialized before one claw had crushed his skull.
All the beastmen were frozen in place, staring at the overwhelming figure of the Phoenix that was imprinted in their hearts. While many were filled with fear of Kong Yu Zhi Wang's terror, only Yun Zhi Yue was calculating how much longer he could hold on.
No one dared to act recklessly anymore; strong individuals held absolute status wherever they were, especially in the jungle where bowing to strength was instinctual.
In this silence, two large black snakes remained unfazed. Their thick tails lashed out towards the waist of the Phoenix. The flames sensed danger and instinctively protected their master; however, the unstoppable flames were dispersed by the strikes, leaving the black snakes unscathed.
Previously, when Yan Lue had teamed up with Mo Li against them, he had underestimated their strength. Now that his flames had been broken through, it was too late for defense.
The two strikes landed solidly on his waist and neck, causing even the flames on his feathers to diminish significantly.
This sudden blow would severely injure Yan Lue—something none of the surviving beastmen had anticipated—but that was all there was to it.
Yan Lue suddenly regained his human form without looking at Mo Li Brothers; instead, he fixed his gaze on Yun Zhi Yue trapped in flames. His lips tightened into a pale line.
"I don’t want to care about him. In my eyes, there is nothing I cannot let go of except you. I don’t think he deserves to be my opponent either. But he makes me uncomfortable; therefore, I will kill him and then soothe you."
Yun Zhi Yue's pupils constricted as she witnessed Yan Lue's fingers gathering celestial energy. What appeared to be merely a purple crescent blade of light expanded the moment it left his hand.
Everyone could only see a purple arc of light.
Yun Zhi Yue shouted in alarm, "Get away!"
It was too fast, so fast that no one had time to react.
