Life does not distinguish between good and evil, but it does differentiate between purity and corruption. The pure side represents humanity, while the corrupted side embodies the bizarre.
Since these are living beings, there must be a solution. In the past, I wandered through the Gui Jing, a place filled with poison. Every player who entered perished within a day, and I was left on the brink of death from the toxins. Then came Yun Zhi Yue, intrigued: "What happened next?"
Song Huai chuckled: "It was quite embarrassing. Eventually, I bowed to that bizarre entity and became its subordinate, diligently working for it without any intention of returning to the human world."
The flow of time in the human world and the Eerie Game is not the same. I spent half my time in Gui Jing before becoming a trusted confidant of the bizarre entity, gaining the ability to turn against it and seize its powers. Only then did I return to the human world and become one of the Top Ten List.
Yun Zhi Yue was surprised: "You really humbled yourself; I never would have guessed. Looking at your appearance, I thought you were the type who would rather die than bow down."
Song Huai shook his head: "Life is only lived once; dying would be a pity. It's better to stay alive if possible. Of course, it depends on the situation. If it truly exceeds my endurance, I would still be willing to accept death."
As they chatted and made their way back, they decided to search for the Red Umbrella that attacked people while also investigating the story behind this city, hoping to uncover why this bizarre entity was trapped within.
In contrast to the two who were already beginning their investigation, Bai Miao Miao found herself in a much more dire situation. Her clothes were riddled with holes from raindrops that burned through them as she dragged the bloodied Jiang Bai into a small alley to take shelter from the rain.
Deep within the alley was a narrow hiding spot that could barely accommodate one person; two would be cramped together. They sat huddled in a corner, their bodies almost entirely overlapping.
Jiang Bai, heavily injured, forced a smile despite his predicament: "I never expected to fall here in Gui Jing."
Bai Miao Miao leaned over him, her voice choked with emotion: "Why did you save me? You could have escaped on your own."
Jiang Bai chuckled lightly: "How foolish. What I saved was your life; I just didn’t expect to be ambushed so severely. In Eerie Game, there’s no such thing as random acts of kindness."
"If I could kill you right now to recover, I wouldn’t hesitate. Do you believe that?"
Bai Miao Miao fell silent for a moment before responding: "Thank you for being honest with me; it eases my worries. Since survival is paramount, I don’t need to hold back anything from you."
Jiang Bai weakly smiled: "Indeed, Yun Zhi Yue has left you an escape route. I'm genuinely curious why someone so bizarre cares so much about you."
"I don’t know," she replied. "I know Yun Zhi Yue wants me to live, and I don’t want to die either. So sorry about this; you'll have to make a sacrifice."
As she unbuckled her belt and sat down beside him, Jiang Bai felt his palm gather energy that could have taken Bai Miao Miao's life dissipate into nothingness.
With an expression of shattered beliefs, he looked at her pained face twisted in agony: "What are you doing?"
Bai Miao Miao winced in pain but grabbed at Jiang Bai's small braid with all her might.
"Shut up! Yun Zhi Yue said you're my link; I can use your abilities in return. You're injured and can't fight back; I can use your power to seize the umbrella so we can both survive."
"The premise of using your abilities is that we really have to engage intimately; only then will it work as if we’re true lovers. As long as you're my link, it will always be effective."
Jiang Bai's face turned pale; he could never have imagined that he would find himself in a damp alleyway being overpowered by a girl he could easily crush with his hand.
This is definitely an illusion, yes, a dying illusion.
Some sensations desperately drilled into his mind, telling him that this was not an illusion.
Damn it, Bai Miao Miao, are you out of your mind?
Ignoring the pain as the wound on his back was torn open again, Jiang Bai couldn't hold back any longer. He grasped Bai Miao Miao's waist tightly and began to take what he desired as a man.
Bai Miao Miao cried out, "You're the one who's sick! How do you still have strength? You're not injured, are you lying to me?"
Jiang Bai's forehead was lined with veins as he lowered his head and sealed her lips with a kiss, not wanting to hear the words that would only hasten his demise.
