After Xiao Zhi married Little Chicken and gained power without restraint, he began pursuing Little Grass relentlessly. Little Chicken's self-esteem shattered as she humbly followed after him.
She brainwashed herself into blaming all the faults on Little Grass without acknowledging any shortcomings in her own man. "Aunt," she asked, "isn't this little chicken pitiable or pathetic? Or is it just laughably absurd?"
Feng Rujiao replied gently, "It's just an unrelated story; there's no need to take it too seriously. If I had to pinpoint the root of the story, it would be that Little Grass shouldn't have existed at all; if she had disappeared cleanly, there wouldn't have been so many troubles."
Yue Shi shook his head. "That's not right; scum like them deserve punishment. I prefer stories where justice prevails."
Feng Rujiao covered her mouth with a smile. "You really don't know how high the sky is! Even Xiao Zhi relies on his marriage contract for power; given their family's status, what do you think you can do about justice?"
Naivety is not frightening; what is truly terrifying is the lack of self-awareness. No matter how many delusions one has, they crumble before absolute power. You should read fewer novels about ants overturning the heavens; such tales exist only in imagination.
