Nie Langyuan listened in disbelief, "Is this for real? Ru Jiao, please don’t say such things about my brother. It concerns a girl's reputation, and that's really not appropriate."
Feng Rujiao's eyes glimmered with emotion, "We've known each other since we were young. Don't you brothers know what kind of person I am? Just as he was about to ask Brother He for his thoughts, someone knocked and entered, announcing that Yun Shijiu had confessed.
Feng Rujiao sighed bitterly, "So it really is revenge? Fine, I won't pursue it further; let's just consider it an accident and let the person go."
The newcomer looked peculiar.
Nie Zhui asked, "What did he confess?"
This person wasn't from the police but had brought a recording from Yun Shijiu, indicating the background of the Nie and Feng families.
The recording played, revealing Yun Shijiu's nonchalant voice. "I didn't mention it before because I was afraid you'd tell my sister. But if you insist on accusing me of murder, then don't blame me for not giving that shameless woman any face."
"This is a corner of a pair of underwear; it's not hard to explain why a woman's car has a man's underwear in it—it's just car sex. She's so old; I really can't bring myself to say it. But hey, it's big enough and clean enough compared to what’s usually sold. Just one time was all it took for her to keep it as one of my personal items. This Feng Family girl is truly something else."
The equipment was smashed to pieces as Feng Rujiao maintained her elegance for the first time, her gaze cold as ice.
"Charge him with murder and defamation! And bring up all those past issues of his! If my concessions only lead to humiliation, then let’s tear off the mask completely."
Nie Zhui ignored Feng Rujiao's anger and simply asked, "Why does Yun Shijiu also call you 'chicken'? Is the little chicken mentioned by Yun Yue Shi your sister or you?"
Feng Rujiao met his deep gaze and felt a jolt in her heart. For a moment, she forgot whether she was facing Yue Qi or Nie Zhui and lost her chance to retort immediately.
Nie Langyuan was taken aback and exclaimed, "This is too strange! What’s going on? Is my brother a playboy? But that doesn’t fit the narrative!"
"Of course he isn't! It's just because both my half-sister and I share the surname Feng that they are deliberately humiliating us," Feng Rujiao quickly added after regaining her composure.
Nie Zhui seemed to accept this explanation as he stood up to leave. "Nie Langyuan, you stay here with her; I have something to attend to."
"Eh? Brother, I’ll stay with you; isn’t that inappropriate?"
Seeing him walk away, Nie Langyuan could only pinch his nose in resignation. He glanced at Feng Rujiao and noticed how she looked at her brother with an intense gaze that sent a chill down his spine.
He didn't know what was happening. Since childhood, everyone around him had adored Feng Rujiao. She was like a star surrounded by the moon, easy to get along with, and showed none of the arrogance typical of a young lady from a prominent family.
Yet, he found her frightening for reasons he couldn't articulate. He simply didn't want to get close to her. However, due to the engagement between Feng Rujiao and Brother He, their families inevitably met frequently.
This led him to dislike staying at home; he often traveled instead. Now that he had gotten mixed up in this situation again, he was already contemplating running away once more.
