The two were intimately entwined, and the world outside mirrored their fervor. Yun Zhi Yue did not rush back to the Underworld; she had already contacted Xian Kong, and there was no major chaos in the Underworld. Han Xi and the others were merely detained for the time being.
Both heaven and earth were focused on this battle. Half a month later, a murky haze enveloped the world, and a fine rain of spiritual power fell like mist. All those drenched in Sheng Ling felt an inexplicable sorrow as the Imperial Realm faced its downfall.
The first to perish was Feng Nu, an elder of the Phoenix Clan. On that day, the cries of grief from the Phoenix Clan echoed, as all members gathered to bid farewell to their elder. Following this, the Phoenix Clan went all out, marching down a path of no return against the Batwing Clan.
In a blood sacrifice that engulfed their entire clan, their leader Feng Yang's power surged dramatically. As a result, Long Xiang, an elder of the Dragon Clan, fell. The rain that penetrated both the heavenly realm and the Underworld seemed relentless.
Feng Yang fought desperately, disregarding any consequences. With the Phoenix Clan in ruins, what else could he possibly hold back? Yun Zhi Yue grew anxious; she feared that Feng Yang might choose to end it all, potentially putting Shijiu in danger.
Standing at the edge of Wujie with Li Shang, she watched intently as the battle unfolded. Feng Yang was determined to burn himself out and take everyone with him. Bi Fang Emperor sighed; though he was not of their race, having walked alongside the Phoenix Clan for so long, he could not help but feel a connection.
After all these years of living, perhaps departing together wouldn’t be so bad. The divine bird summoned its life flame, and two types of fierce fire even scorched the space of the heavenly realm. The Twenty-One Heavens gradually began to dissolve into nothingness; if this continued, even the Thirty-Six Heavens would be affected.
Ji Wei, Yue Qi, and Shijiu found themselves surrounded by flames. In her panic, Yun Zhi Yue attempted to rush in to help but was held back by Li Shang.
Wu Jian reappeared as A Sword cleaved through Wujie’s might; however, this time it isolated the Twenty-One Heavens entirely. Subsequently, Tide Emperor summoned a vast ocean that swallowed up the separated Twenty-One Heavens whole. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Yue Qi and the others struck down Feng Yang and Bi Fang.
With two more emperors fallen, the gentle drizzle transformed into a torrential downpour. The Imperial Realm could not withstand this deluge. One by one, they stood drenched in the rain as they witnessed a battle ending with the annihilation of the Phoenix Clan.
Yet it was not over; clad in ice-blue celestial robes of Han She Clan, Yun Shijiu emerged from behind the curtain of rain with her sword drawn against Tian Di Yue Qi.
"I am very interested in your Heavenly Emperor Position," she declared. "I assume you wouldn’t willingly relinquish it; thus, I will skip any formalities and declare war directly."
"I, Yun Shijiu, will lead Han She Clan to establish ourselves as Yun Di. In this Thirty-Six Heavens, I shall contend with you. Any clans wishing to stand behind me are welcome to come to Han She Clan; I shall treat them all equally."
"To hell with your Heaven and Earth Bestow Mandate! I aspire to reach the pinnacle and dare to contend with heaven itself without resorting to underhanded tactics."
Yun Zhi Yue widened his eyes, surprised at the audacity of this young man.
Ji Wei, with a carefree smile, remarked, "What boldness! Yun Di wants to contend for the title of Sovereign of the Celestial Realm. I have high hopes for him."
Yun Shijiu raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are you planning to side with Ben Di?"
Ji Wei's beauty was captivating as she lightly smiled, "From this day forth, the Celestial Fox Clan will close its territory for self-cultivation. We will wait until the two of you decide the victor before making our appearance to add some flair to the celebration. Congratulations in advance."
Yun Shijiu replied irritably, "Then why are you saying anything at all?"
Yue Qi, undeterred by the provocation, swiftly moved to stand in front of Yun Zhi Yue. He asked a single question: "If no one in this world can surpass Ben Di, would you be willing to stand by his side?"
Yun Zhi Yue felt an ominous premonition and immediately asked, "What do you intend to do?"
