Lin Xu lay on her bed, reminiscing about the time spent with Ye Feng in the study room. His patient explanations, gentle gaze, and the words "You are the kindest and strongest girl I have ever met" stirred a warmth in her heart. 0

"Ye Feng..." she murmured softly, a smile unconsciously spreading across her lips. Suddenly, she sat up abruptly and slapped her cheeks. "Lin Xu, what are you thinking? He was just feeling sorry for you." 0

Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to calm down. Yet, that warmth was impossible to suppress, flowing through her heart like a gentle spring stream. 0

"No, I need to focus on my studies." Lin Xu shook her head and pulled out her textbook to review. However, every time she saw the notes Ye Feng had made in her book, that warmth surged back into her heart. 0

"What’s wrong with me..." Lin Xu lamented as she tugged at her hair in frustration. 0

The next morning, Lin Xu woke up early. Standing in front of the mirror, she hesitated over whether to put on light makeup. "Forget it, I'm not doing this for anyone." She chuckled at herself, grabbed her backpack, and left the dormitory. 0

As she approached the entrance of the teaching building, Lin Xu spotted He Miao and her entourage. Instinctively wanting to avoid them, it was already too late. 0

"Well, if it isn't our 'little pitiful'!" He Miao said mockingly. "Did you cry enough last night?" 0

Lin Xu bit her lip, trying hard to ignore them. Just then, a familiar voice called out: "Lin Xu." 0

She looked up to see Ye Feng. 0

"Ye... Ye Feng..." Lin Xu stammered as her heart raced unexpectedly. 0

Ye Feng walked up to Lin Xu with a smile and said, "I was just looking for you. Can I borrow your English notes?" 0

Lin Xu froze for a moment before quickly nodding. "Sure... sure." She fumbled through her backpack for her notebook while wondering: 'Why does Ye Feng want to borrow my notes? Isn’t his English good?' 0

Seeing this, He Miao immediately chimed in, "Ye Feng, you need English notes? My notes are very comprehensive; do you want to take a look?" 0

Ye Feng politely declined. "Thanks, but I’d prefer to see Lin Xu's." 0

He Miao's expression changed instantly as she scoffed, "Pfft! With her grades, what could possibly be interesting in her notes?" 0

At these words, Lin Xu hesitated for a moment. Ye Feng noticed and softly said, "Don’t mind her; your notes must be great." 0

This encouragement gave Lin Xu immense confidence. Finally finding her notebook, she handed it to Ye Feng. "Here... here you go." 0

Ye Feng took the notebook and flipped through a few pages, his eyes lighting up. "Wow, your notes are really well done—clear structure and key points highlighted." 0

Lin Xu's face flushed red. "N-no... it's just some casual notes..." 0

He Miao couldn't stand it any longer and sneered, "Lin Xu, your grades are so poor; why are you pretending?" 0

Ye Feng frowned slightly and was about to say something when Lin Xu spoke up first: "He Miao, my grades may not be good, but I'm trying hard. What right do you have to mock others?" 0

He Miao was momentarily taken aback by Lin Xu's unexpected retort and found herself at a loss for words. 0

Ye Feng looked at Lin Xu, a hint of admiration flashing in his eyes. He gently patted Lin Xu's shoulder and said, "Well said, hard work is the most important thing." 0

Lin Xu felt the warmth of Ye Feng's hand, and her heart raced again. She lowered her head and softly replied, "Thank you, Ye Feng." 0

He Miao, witnessing this, stomped her feet in anger. "You... you..." She turned and walked away, her followers quickly trailing behind her. 0

Ye Feng watched He Miao's retreating figure and said softly, "Don't mind her, let's head to the classroom." 0

Lin Xu nodded and followed Ye Feng into the classroom. Her heart was a mix of emotions—joy from being defended by Ye Feng, anger towards He Miao, and insecurity about herself. 0

"Can I really do it?" Lin Xu sat at her desk, gazing at Ye Feng's back as she pondered silently. 0

The class bell rang, prompting Lin Xu to force herself to concentrate on the lesson. However, her thoughts kept drifting back to Ye Feng. 0

"Why did he borrow my notes?" 0
"Is he just feeling sorry for me?" 0
"Am I really as good as he says?" 0

These questions swirled in her mind, making it difficult for her to focus. 0

After class, teacher Cui entered the room and announced that new Honor Roll photos would be posted. 0

"Everyone needs to submit their photo," teacher Cui said. "This is both encouragement and expectation for you all." 0

Lin Xu's heart sank at this news. She knew her grades were among the lowest in the class; having her photo displayed would only make her feel more embarrassed. 0

He Miao seemed to sense Lin Xu's thoughts and deliberately said loudly, "Teacher, there might not be enough space on the photo wall for everyone's pictures; some might not even get posted." 0

She shot a pointed glance at Lin Xu, a smirk playing on her lips. 0

Lin Xu lowered her head, feeling all eyes on her. Her hands clenched tightly at the hem of her shirt, knuckles turning white. 0

At that moment, Ye Feng stood up. "Teacher, I have a suggestion." 0

teacher Cui nodded. "Go ahead, Ye Feng." 0

Ye Feng continued, "I think we should make space for everyone. If there's not enough room, we can make the photos smaller or rearrange them. After all, everyone is working hard and deserves encouragement." 0

Lin Xu looked up in surprise at Ye Feng. She hadn't expected him to speak up for her. 0

teacher Cui thought for a moment before nodding. "Ye Feng is right. Let's do that; everyone submit your photos, and we will find a way to display them all." 0

He Miao's face turned red with anger, but she dared not say anything in front of the teacher. 0

Lin Xu looked gratefully at Ye Feng, who smiled back at her. 0

After school, Lin Xu stood alone in front of the Honor Roll, gazing at the wall filled with photos. Her picture was posted in the corner; although small, it was indeed there. 0

"Did you find yourself?" Ye Feng's voice came from behind her. 0

Lin Xu turned around to see Ye Feng smiling at her. 0

"Yes, I found it," Lin Xu said softly. "Thank you, Ye Feng. If it weren't for you, my photo might not have made it up there." 0

Ye Feng shook his head. "You don't need to thank me. You deserve to be seen and encouraged. Lin Xu, you have to believe in yourself." 0

Lin Xu lowered her head, her eyes slightly moist. "But... my grades are really poor..." 0

Ye Feng sighed gently. "Grades are not the only measure of a person. You work hard and are kind; those are your strengths." 0

Lin Xu lifted her head and looked into Ye Feng's eyes. "Ye Feng, why... why are you so nice to me?" 0

Ye Feng paused for a moment before smiling. "Because... you are you." 0

Lin Xu felt her heart skip a beat. She didn't know what to say and could only stare blankly at Ye Feng. 0

Ye Feng seemed to realize what he had just said and awkwardly cleared his throat. "Um... shall we go study in the Study Room?" 0

Lin Xu snapped back to reality and nodded. "Okay... sure." 0

The two walked side by side toward the Study Room, and Lin Xu's heart was filled with complex emotions. She felt both excited and fearful, wanting to get closer to Ye Feng while also being afraid of getting hurt. 0

'What should I do?' Lin Xu asked herself internally. 'Have I... fallen for Ye Feng?' 0

This question was like a seed, quietly taking root and sprouting in Lin Xu's heart. 0
