The three of them arrived at the edge of a deep abyss.
"How are we supposed to get down there?"
Looking down into the seemingly bottomless chasm, Fat Cat couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine.
"This is indeed a bit troublesome!"
Lin Han also felt a headache coming on. Although riding the Qilin might allow him to attempt a descent, having two more people with him made things complicated. He was still worried about leaving Fat Cat alone above.
"I can go down by myself; you two don’t need to worry about me!" Qin Luoxi said firmly.
Lin Han's gaze narrowed. Qin Luoxi's target had always been Cerberus. Even though their relationships had eased somewhat during the journey, he wouldn't give up on that goal. Despite Qin Luoxi insisting she didn't need him to accompany her, with Fat Cat along, Lin Han doubted he could keep up with her speed. Unless he left Fat Cat behind.
For a moment, Lin Han found himself in a dilemma. He would never abandon his brother in a dangerous situation.
"I'll take you both down; consider it repayment for your help earlier!"
Suddenly, a familiar voice broke through the tension. The three turned to see Han Fei, looking somewhat haughty not far away.
"What are you staring at me for? I just don’t want to owe you any favors. You helped me earlier, so let’s call it even this time, alright? But! Once we’re down there, whoever can take down Cerberus will have to fend for themselves!"
Han Fei's voice was rather cold.
"Deal!" Lin Han agreed without a second thought. After all, his only concern was the danger of leaving Fat Cat behind. Everything else didn't really matter to him. Since Han Fei wanted to do him this favor, there was no reason to refuse.
Immediately afterward, Han Fei summoned the Dragon Sparrow. Lin Han and Xue Wushuang climbed aboard without hesitation.
"Aren't you coming up?" After leaping to the front, Han Fei looked back in confusion at Qin Luoxi, who remained standing on the edge.
"No!" Qin Luoxi replied, and then she jumped directly into the bottomless abyss.
Aren't you sure your friend won't die from that? Han Fei was startled by the scene; the abyss seemed endless, and he had no idea how deep it really was. She just jumped down like that?
"Don't worry, she's fine!" Lin Han had also been momentarily stunned, but thinking of her abilities, he figured there wouldn't be any problems.
"Who would be crazy enough not to ride a mount?" Han Fei said, feeling speechless.
Soon after, the group settled on the Dragon Sparrow and delved deeper into the Abyss of Hell.
The deeper they went, the more uneasy Lin Han felt. The temperature below was significantly higher than above; sweat had already begun to bead on his forehead, while Fat Cat's clothes were completely soaked through.
"What kind of hellish temperature is this?" Fat Cat grumbled.
"Do you have any idea why this place is called the Abyss of Hell?" Han Fei shot him a glance.
"How would I know?" Fat Cat snapped back, clearly irritated by the jab.
"This is a volcanic crater, so the temperature is extremely high. Cerberus is the only beast in this Abyss of Hell that can move through magma!"
Han Fei continued, "Thus, Cerberus is the only ferocious creature in the Abyss of Hell!"
"In the past, many from the Military Academy have come to the Abyss of Hell hoping to clear it, but most couldn't even make it down. Some who did couldn't defeat Cerberus!"
"But I'm different. I will definitely slay Cerberus!" Han Fei declared earnestly.
"Suit yourself. Anyway, that Cerberus is already in Han Zi's grasp. Just make sure to bring us back up afterward!" Fat Cat replied, clearly skeptical about Lin Han's confidence.
