In a dark corner of the kingdom, Lin Han and Qian Yixuan were hiding. The surroundings were dimly lit, with the occasional sound of liquid dripping onto the floor. The stone tiles beneath their feet and the walls were mostly covered in moss, and a guard with a torch approached their hiding spot.
From a distance, a voice shouted, "Everyone, get your act together! Anyone who dares to offend His Highness in public must be sent to the Gallows! The King has said that whoever captures them will be rewarded with nobility!"
The voice echoed from afar, and the guard holding the torch sneered to himself. "If I really find them, I'll report directly to the King. Who would risk their life for you, you fool?"
As he spoke, the soldier drew closer to the corner, the light from his torch dispelling some of the darkness and revealing the moss-covered stones. Suddenly, a sharp sound pierced through the air, and before the soldier could react, a Blood Light erupted from his chest.
A spear shot out with such speed that even Qian Yixuan was taken by surprise. The soldier fell dead instantly, his torch about to fall to the ground. Qian Yixuan stepped forward and caught it just in time, preventing their location from being exposed. They exchanged relieved glances, both feeling a moment of gratitude.
Although the immediate crisis had passed, they remained wanted fugitives. Lin Han felt a surge of frustration and helplessness; he realized he couldn't tear through reality as he once could. Entering this Faded Puppet World had rendered him powerless; he couldn't retaliate when someone killed him nor could he return to that moment to choose a better escape route.
He no longer possessed the disruptive abilities granted by the Dungeon or system. Now they were just two ordinary individuals unable to utilize their Beast Master talents effectively against those weak guards. However, numbers were against them, and with his abilities suppressed and his Beast unable to be summoned, escaping this place seemed nearly impossible.
Lin Han's expression hardened as he transformed his spear into a Mechanism Box with a flick of his wrist and stored it away. "Do you have any powerful tools left? Let me borrow something," he asked.
Qian Yixuan stared at Lin Han in awe after witnessing him so decisively pierce through the armored guard. Her eyes widened as she absorbed the sight of his Divine Mechanism Refinement skills.
"How ridiculous! What time is it, and you're still joking with me? Aren't you from some wealthy family? Show me a few items so I can see for myself."
Lin Han turned the focus onto Qian Yixuan, whose face revealed a hint of embarrassment. He cleared his throat and said, "I only have a few items to spare. Most of them are just useless Talent Dice, and there aren't many that are worth showcasing. The best I have are a few Diamond Level consumables."
As he spoke, Qian Yixuan took off the ring from his left hand. However, Lin Han snatched the ring from his hand before he could react. With a look of disappointment, he handed it back, frowning.
"What does it mean for you, a High-Level Support Class, to carry Mage Accessories?"
"These are my investment in dice rolling; you wouldn't understand," Qian Yixuan quickly put the ring back on but couldn't help frowning again.
That feeling of erosion returned. Qian Yixuan's voice began to slow down, and his words gradually shifted into a deeper male tone.
"Damn it! At this moment, that King Senbo actually chased after us!"
Lin Han's expression changed dramatically as a sharp pain surged into his brain. It felt as if the very fate of his character was being forcibly altered, leaving him in unbearable agony.
