The two of them searched the entire empty hall but found not a single trace of anyone. Could it be that Han Fei was not here and might be somewhere else?
Qian Yixuan's expression was not good; he was sweating profusely. They had practically scoured the entire palace, and strangely enough, it felt like an inexplicable dead city. Even the once-bustling streets were deserted.
As Qian Yixuan walked, he muttered to himself, "If Han Fei's role is that of a princess, then why did King Senbo choose to use a puppet as a stand-in? Why not simply shut the doors and avoid any appearances? Instead, they chose to host a grand banquet. If the intention was never to let the real Marina Princess show up, then what could their purpose be?"
Lin Han pondered for a moment before his eyes suddenly lit up in unison with Qian Yixuan's. Lin Han confidently declared, "The princess is right here, and she is in a situation where everyone can see her."
Without hesitation, Lin Han and Qian Yixuan rushed toward the grand hall where the banquet had been held. In the center of the spacious venue stood the wooden platform that had previously showcased the counterfeit princess.
The platform was draped in satin, allowing Princess Mary's puppet to strike a pose for guests to admire through the thin veil. The satin above was somewhat disheveled, and at that moment, the counterfeit princess remained eerily still on the platform.
As they approached, the puppet emitted a series of stammering sounds. Lin Han's eyes flashed with coldness as he immediately threw a punch at the oddly-shaped puppet.
The force of his punch struck the puppet, causing the wooden platform beneath it to splinter into pieces. A loud crack echoed as the boards broke apart.
Then, from amidst the scattered wood chips, a figure slowly collapsed onto the ground. Without needing to think twice, they recognized that it was Han Fei, whom they had been searching for.
At that moment, her delicate brows were slightly furrowed, her face devoid of color, and her luxurious princess gown remained spotless.
"Han Fei, wake up! Han Fei!" Lin Han exclaimed as he and Qian Yixuan rushed to her side, looking at her still unconscious form with growing urgency.
"I'll try something," Qian Yixuan said as he opened his palm to reveal an ancient book that had yellowed with age. The cover depicted a bard riding a horse.
Is this your reward for passing the challenge?
Lin Han raised an eyebrow, revealing a look of interest.
Qian Yixuan didn’t think much of it and opened the Bard's Chronicle. As she did, the Jin Mang in her hand flickered at her fingertips, and neat, clean text appeared on the paper.
Han Fei immediately regained her senses.
The line of text was written in an instant, but Qian Yixuan's legs went weak, and she nearly collapsed to the ground. The color drained from her face, while Han Fei’s complexion gradually returned to normal. After a light cough, she slowly opened her eyes.
Is it really that incomprehensible?
Lin Han raised an eyebrow at the book in Qian Yixuan's hands. It was merely a small test, yet it turned out to have such significant effects.
Don’t play coy with me; your reward should be the same unique bookmark character as mine, right?
Qian Yixuan was being supported but still shot Lin Han a glance. She produced a pill from her hand and tossed it into her mouth. The pallor on her face faded like a receding tide.
Bao Tun.
Lin Han chuckled. At that moment, Han Fei finally noticed them after waking up and instinctively covered her forehead as she stood up.
What are you all doing here? Why am I here?
Well, that’s something you should ask yourself. Check your System Panel; sister, how many chapters have you slept through? You really have no idea, do you?
Qian Yixuan rolled her eyes at her in exasperation.
