Sassos, the Sage, stood before Lin Han, his expression unchanging despite the gravity of the situation.
"What else could it be? Afraid of dying?" Lin Han replied with a light chuckle. "Being a vanguard isn’t always voluntary. Your envoy said I could become Immortal; I must seize this opportunity."
"Enough with the nonsense! I’ll kill you right now!" The general, still gripping Lin Han tightly, wore a ferocious expression as he began to channel his skills.
At that moment, Sassos moved even faster, stabilizing the situation and turning his gaze toward Lin Han. He spoke in a deep voice, "You’re just a soldier; what gives you the right to claim you can survive? We don’t have the luxury of keeping someone alive, especially not an enemy!"
"I can guide you!" Lin Han quickly interjected, eagerly presenting himself as a guide.
"Yes! Commander, this person is part of the vanguard Squad and serves as a scout. His strength isn’t particularly impressive, but he is very familiar with the military layout of the Great Yu Dynasty!" Qika finally found an opening. Given his superior's unique position, he needed to ensure that Sassos wouldn’t encounter any unforeseen issues right from the start.
"Guide? I can’t trust any of you!" Sassos declared, extending his hand. Energy began to surge from his palm, swirling with deep purple light as if something were wailing in agony. Soon, the purple energy coalesced into a six-pointed star formation above Lin Han's head.
Instantly, Lin Han felt a sharp pain in his mind as an incredibly mysterious force of suppression enveloped him, symbolizing the pressure of a demon god that struggled within his consciousness, threatening to tear him apart completely.
Another demon god's power!
Lin Han grimaced as Qika and Zhang Yan Shi rushed to stabilize him.
"Ah, if all Beast Masters of the Great Yu Dynasty are like this waste, then it’s all good!" Sassos sighed deeply. "I’ve placed the power of the Sidi Demon God upon you. If you step even half a step beyond my control, energy will surge within you and before long, you’ll explode!"
Coughing slightly, Lin Han pressed one hand against the ground as the power from the Sidi Demon God slowly manifested into a vague figure in his mind.
However, this demon god was also at the divine level. Just as Lin Han tried to discern what this so-called demon god looked like, he received a system alert:
[The demon god is not visible! The demon god is not visible!]
"Marshal! This person is extremely important; we cannot let him die!" Qika was frantic. In his heart, Lin Han was worth more than the entire military camp!
"I am the Marshal here! What I do does not require your judgment!" Sassos spoke coldly, clearly displeased with Qika’s attitude.
Zhang Yan Shi was not known for his good temper either. A cold expression immediately appeared on his face as he spoke in a deep voice, "Fine, I will tell you this: this person is someone I am very invested in. If you disrupt my plans, you won't have a good outcome either!"
Qika, aware of his own abilities and status as an envoy, knew that despite his low position in the military camp, these individuals dared not act against him.
Sassos, as a Demon God Warrior with exceptional physical prowess, swiftly appeared before Qika and sneered, "This is a military camp, and you have no authority to speak here. Moreover, not long ago, you led nearly forty of my subordinates to their doom. I expect you, Zhang Yan Shi, to atone for your sins!"
