Qin Feng's eyes flashed with hesitation.
The Black Mountain Old Demon suddenly continued, "There’s something you might not know."
Qin Feng raised his head, curious. "What is it?"
"The national fortune of Da Li has reached its end," the Black Mountain Old Demon stated gravely. "The world will soon descend into chaos over the dragon's throne. If we can support a True Dragon, once a nation is established, heaven will bestow virtue and Destiny Energy upon us, allowing us to transcend and ascend."
Qin Feng was taken aback. "Isn't Da Li stable?"
"That’s only temporary. Once the old emperor dies, Da Li will surely fall into turmoil," the Black Mountain Old Demon replied. "And let me tell you another thing: there’s a Great Demon in the capital." It seemed that the Black Mountain was eager to recruit Qin Feng, revealing more secrets.
A shockwave surged through Qin Feng's heart. A monster in the capital? From what the Black Mountain Old Demon implied, it must be a Divine Realm Great Demon King.
His mind raced as he considered his situation—one developing among humans while the other mingled with demons and monsters, patiently waiting for an opportunity.
With this thought in mind, he lifted his head and said, "Alright, I will join Black Mountain."
The Black Mountain Old Demon was overjoyed. "Haha! That's wonderful! From now on, you can call me Big Brother."
Qin Feng shook his head. "Why not call me Big Brother instead?"
The Black Mountain Old Demon paused for a moment before bursting into hearty laughter. "Brother, are you trying to compete with me?"
Qin Feng's expression turned serious. "I humbly ask for your guidance, Brother from Black Mountain."
The Black Mountain Old Demon stood up. "Alright, let me test your mettle then." He glanced down at Guobei County. "Let’s go fight somewhere else; Guobei County still has its purpose."
Qin Feng looked at the Black Mountain Old Demon in surprise and nodded in agreement.
The two figures soared into the distance.
On a desolate mountain, Black Python reappeared, and the Black Mountain Old Demon brandished a spear in his hand. They clashed fiercely, shaking the entire mountain as the surrounding creatures fled for their lives.
After a few exchanges, the Black Mountain Old Demon realized that Qin Feng was a formidable opponent. The body of Black Python could transform into black mist, rendering him immune to harm. The Black Mountain Old Demon took this as a manifestation of Black Python's divine abilities, without any doubt.
Qin Feng was equally astonished; the Black Mountain Old Demon was indeed powerful. When his serpent tail struck against him, it felt like hitting steel, causing no damage whatsoever. Legends said that the Black Mountain Old Demon was one with the mountain itself, and Qin Feng could sense a heavy presence emanating from him.
After a while of battling, the desolate mountain crumbled under their blows. The Black Mountain Old Demon expressed admiration, saying, "Brother, your strength is truly impressive, especially your divine abilities that keep you in an invincible position."
Qin Feng shook his head in response. "You are strong too; I can't break through your defenses."
In truth, if he had used all his strength, he could have shattered the Black Mountain Old Demon's defenses, but he saw no need to do so.
"Forget it; let's call it a draw. You're the boss here," Qin Feng said as he transformed back into his human form, shaking his head.
