Cui Pan's expression froze; he had never considered this before. However, upon reflection, it did seem reasonable.
"You should know how long it takes for him to resurrect, right?" Hei Jiao asked.
Cui Pan came back to his senses. "At most three years, and he will regain all his strength."
"That's enough." Hei Jiao smiled at this. In three years, his own power would have increased significantly. By then, a single Blood Demon should be able to eliminate him.
Cui Pan looked at Hei Jiao in shock, unsure where his confidence was coming from. Lu Pan also stared at Hei Jiao in disbelief. Although Hei Jiao was stronger than him, the power of the Blood Demon was far more terrifying. If it weren't just a projection, they would all be doomed if the true entity appeared.
Hei Jiao turned to Cui Pan. "Since that's settled, I’ll head to my Judge's Hall."
Cui Pan's eyes flickered. "Wait." He reached out his hand, and a thin black booklet appeared, flying towards Hei Jiao.
"This is a copy of the Life and Death Register. You can only view it; it has no other functions."
Hei Jiao took the Life and Death Register, surprise evident in his eyes. He hadn't expected there to be another one.
The Black Mountain Old Demon perked up. "What about mine? Where's my Life and Death Register?"
Lu Pan cast a disdainful glance at the Black Mountain Old Demon. "There are only two Life and Death Registers now. I don't have one, so you certainly won't either."
The Black Mountain Old Demon was taken aback and felt disappointed that there were only two. However, he soon shrugged it off; after all, Hei Jiao was his little brother, and he could still take a look at it.
Hei Jiao flipped through the Life and Death Register and found the name of the Da Li Emperor—one year left; he only had one year to live. No wonder he was acting so recklessly.
He glanced at the others: Qin Wan'er had only three years left; the Eldest Princess and Seventh Princess also had three years remaining. His expression changed slightly as he turned a few more pages—Ning Caichen and Zhu Fang also had just three years left to live.
He closed the Life and Death Register, a grim expression on his face. What would happen in three years? Was it the Blood Demon? His complexion darkened; the Blood Demon was already on his list of deadly threats.
There was also the possibility that a significant change would occur in three years, but what that change would be remained to be seen. He found his own name, already crossed out—indeed, the original owner was dead.
Hei Jiao put away the Life and Death Register and looked at Cui Pan, thanking him. "You are also Lu Pan and Cui Pan; this is yours," Cui Pan replied with a smile.
Hei Jiao left with the Black Mountain Old Demon.
Only then did Lu Pan hurriedly turn to Cui Pan, asking, "What were you thinking? How could you just give the Life and Death Register to him?" He felt somewhat dissatisfied; he had asked for it for so long, yet Cui Pan refused to give it to him, only to hand it over to Hei Jiao without hesitation.
Cui Pan glanced at Lu Pan. "What do you want it for? To extend someone’s life?"
"Uh?" Lu Pan froze. "How could that be possible?"
"Hmph, don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been doing in the mortal realm. You even swapped heads for someone! You really have some nerve. If Yan Jun and the others were around, you'd end up in hot water," Cui Pan said with a tone of disappointment.
"Ahem, I was just helping a friend," Lu Pan replied, shivering slightly.
Cui Pan shook his head helplessly. "You should stay away from the mortal realm more often. This Jiao Long is not simple; we need to befriend him. The Blood Demon has already left, and we might have to rely on him to navigate through the crisis in Difu."
