The escape of Black Hawk had left the morale of the Alliance somewhat low. Although several bases of the Shadow Alliance had been destroyed, Black Hawk remained at large. More critically, it seemed that Black Hawk's Dark Tide Plan had only just begun. Chen Rui realized that to completely dismantle this shadowy organization, he needed to gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the Shadow Alliance. 0

That morning, Chen Rui received intelligence that operatives had intercepted a mysterious code from the Shadow Alliance. The code frequently mentioned a location codenamed Doomsday Bastion, which analysts believed could be the core base of the Shadow Alliance. Once this news spread, the higher-ups in the Alliance immediately convened for discussion. Based on the existing clues, they suspected that Doomsday Bastion was hidden deep within a remote mountain range, surrounded by treacherous natural terrain that would make it difficult for outsiders to approach. 0

During the meeting, Zhao Yunshan suggested, "Doomsday Bastion is likely the command center of the Shadow Alliance. If we can infiltrate it, we can completely destroy their foundation." 0

Chen Rui nodded in agreement but remained cautious. "However, we must not let our guard down. Black Hawk is extremely cunning; this could very well be a trap." 0

After a moment of contemplation, Erin spoke up. "If this is a trap, Black Hawk will surely have set up extensive surveillance and obstacles around it. However, if we plan meticulously, we might be able to turn their scheme against them." 0

After thorough deliberation, the Alliance decided to dispatch an elite squad to stealthily infiltrate the area where Doomsday Bastion was located. To avoid alerting the enemy, Chen Rui personally selected a team of elite members, including Zhao Yunshan, Erin, and several experienced Assault Team Members. They would disguise themselves as ordinary travelers, posing as an innocuous tour group to conceal their identities as they approached the mountains. 0

Three days later, Chen Rui led the squad to the mouth of the mountain range. The surroundings were desolate, with a damp chill permeating the air. The trees loomed overhead, nearly blocking out the sky and casting an unusually dim light over everything. 0

"This place certainly looks like a hideout that the Shadow Alliance would choose," Zhao Yunshan murmured, his eyes glinting with caution. 0

Erin checked her map and pointed to a winding path in the distance. "According to our intel, we need to follow this path and bypass several outposts ahead to get closer to the fortress." 0

As the squad moved deeper into the area, the atmosphere grew increasingly oppressive. Everyone was careful to avoid several concealed infrared sensors and successfully passed through the first checkpoint. Along their route, they discovered numerous cleverly placed traps and surveillance devices, indicating how tightly secured this area was by the Shadow Alliance. 0

Just as they approached the outskirts of the fortress, faint footsteps echoed from afar. Chen Rui immediately signaled for everyone to hide among the bushes. They held their breath and peered through gaps in the foliage, spotting several patrolling soldiers dressed in Shadow Alliance uniforms slowly passing by while vague commands crackled through their radios. 0

"They've intensified their patrols," Erin whispered. "It seems Black Hawk is already aware of our presence." 0

Chen Rui nodded gravely, silently raising his alertness. They quietly maneuvered around the patrol team and continued onward. 0

Finally, after hours of stealthy movement, the squad halted before a concealed cave entrance. The entrance was heavily camouflaged; without careful observation, it would be nearly impossible to discern that it led to a hidden passageway into the fortress. According to their intel, this cave was likely an auxiliary route for Doomsday Bastion meant for emergency situations. 0

"If we enter here, we should be able to avoid most of their surveillance," Erin whispered. 0

"Move swiftly and make no noise," Chen Rui commanded as he led his squad inside. 0

The passage within the cave was narrow and dark, filled with a musty odor and dampness. As they ventured deeper, the temperature dropped significantly as if they were stepping into a cold underground labyrinth. After traversing several hundred meters, the passage gradually widened; ahead came faint mechanical humming sounds that hinted at how close they were to the fortress. 0

At last, they arrived at a spacious underground chamber. It was brightly lit and surrounded by surveillance cameras and heavy security equipment—evidence of how heavily fortified Shadow Alliance's defenses were. Chen Rui quickly organized reconnaissance tasks while Erin took charge of disabling their surveillance system to clear obstacles for the squad ahead. 0
