As night fell, the headquarters of the Special Zone received urgent intelligence: remnants of the Shadow Alliance had assembled an elite squad, planning a raid on the core facilities of the Special Zone. The operation was codenamed "You Ying," rumored to be a highly destructive attack. The target remained unclear, but the threat was imminent. The high command immediately ordered Chen Rui to lead a special operations squad to the Abandoned Factory where the enemy was gathering, aiming to strike first. 0

As Chen Rui prepared for action, he couldn't shake off the feeling that this mission was unusual. The Alliance had already suffered significant losses in previous strikes, yet they were still able to organize such a precise operation. There seemed to be more to this than met the eye. With a sense of unease, he gathered his team and began outlining their infiltration plan. 0

The night cloaked the Abandoned Factory in darkness, an eerie silence enveloping the area as if countless eyes were watching the intruders. Under Chen Rui's leadership, the squad infiltrated the factory, but as soon as they entered, a strange sense of oppression washed over them. Though there was no one around, Chen Rui felt as if someone was secretly observing their every move. 0

Eileen quickly accessed the factory's surveillance system, attempting to assess the enemy's defenses. However, it appeared that someone had tampered with the system; the cameras flickered erratically and occasionally displayed strange images, resembling some kind of afterimage. Eileen whispered in confusion, "Chen Rui, there seems to be an issue with the internal surveillance; there's some kind of interference signal causing abnormal imagery." 0

Furrowing his brow, Chen Rui recalled a similar situation from their last encounter at an abandoned Experimental Base where they had also experienced this bizarre interference. Each time such occurrences happened, it usually indicated that the enemy had new defensive measures in place. He quickly ordered his team to remain vigilant while instructing Eileen to continue attempting to decipher the signal interference to ensure they could obtain clear internal visuals. 0

Just then, a low mechanical sound emanated from deep within the factory, as if some heavy machinery was slowly powering up. Chen Rui and his team pressed against the walls for cover, keeping a close watch on the corridor ahead. Yet, it remained empty except for that faint mechanical noise growing louder, creating an inexplicable sense of pressure. 0

"Everyone stay alert; it could be a trap set by the enemy," Chen Rui warned in a hushed tone. 0

As they ventured deeper into the factory, the strange atmosphere thickened. At the end of a corridor, several half-open iron doors flickered with red lights as if signaling something ominous. Chen Rui gestured for one of his team members to investigate. Cautiously opening one of the doors revealed a chilling sight: the room was filled with various damaged equipment and even some bloodstained clothing in a corner, suggesting it had once been some sort of experimental site. 0

"This place used to be converted into a laboratory?" Eileen asked through her communicator, her voice tinged with unease. 0

Suppressing his own doubts, Chen Rui pressed on. They eventually reached the central warehouse of the factory, which was packed with explosives and equipment—clearly an enemy munitions depot. However, upon inspecting these explosives, they discovered that their fuses had been tampered with; it seemed they had been deliberately left behind to lure them in. 0

"This doesn't seem like Shadow Alliance's usual tactics," Chen Rui murmured under his breath; it felt more like a trap. 0

Just as he tried to analyze this underlying logic, alarms suddenly blared throughout the factory. The large doors of the warehouse slammed shut before them, trapping their squad in an airtight space. Amidst the blaring alarms, automated defense systems activated; several gun turrets emerged from the walls and aimed at their position. 0

"Everyone find cover immediately!" Chen Rui commanded decisively as he led his team frantically around the warehouse to evade gunfire from the turrets. 0

Eileen quickly hacked into the factory's defense system but found that this firewall was exceptionally complex—seemingly set up as a trap for this very moment. She worked tirelessly to breach it while time slipped away; pressure from the turrets intensified until they were nearly out of options. 0

"Eileen, hurry! We can't hold out much longer!" Chen Rui's voice carried urgency. 0

Finally, at the last moment, Eileen succeeded in shutting down the defense system; the turrets ceased fire and allowed Chen Rui and his team a brief respite. However, the eerie atmosphere lingered as if unseen eyes were still watching them. 0

As they exited the warehouse, a vague silhouette suddenly appeared in the darkness at the end of the corridor. The figure stood silently shrouded in an almost imperceptible shadow that obscured its features while emanating an icy aura. 0

"Who are you?" Chen Rui shouted as he aimed his weapon at that figure. 0

Yet it did not respond; instead, it slowly faded back into darkness as if it had never been there at all. The factory returned to its deathly silence as though everything had merely been an illusion. 0

Chen Rui's unease deepened; there seemed to be a larger conspiracy behind this raid. He swiftly led his squad out of the factory with explosives and data chips left by their enemies. Upon returning to Special Zone headquarters, Eileen attempted to decrypt data from one of the chips only to discover it contained sensitive information about their own operations within Special Zone. 0

"It seems this attack by Shadow Alliance wasn't just about destruction; it was also meant to convey some kind of message," Eileen said with furrowed brows. "There may be a mole within Special Zone." 0

Chen Rui's expression darkened as he gazed thoughtfully at the contents on his computer screen; an unsettling feeling began to rise within him. The mystery surrounding this mission had only just begun to unfold while true threats might be lurking in unseen shadows around them. 0
