"Stay calm and stick to the plan," Director Zhao said in a low voice. "Do not fire recklessly; wait for the right moment."
The Mechanical Warriors quickly entered the perimeter of the factory ruins, moving cautiously and swiftly, clearly aware that there might be traps in the area. However, they did not stop; instead, they pressed forward even faster toward the Core Area.
These machines seem to be self-learning. Chen Rui stared intently at the screen in the control room, his brow furrowed. Their movements are becoming increasingly intelligent.
No matter how smart they are, they are still machines. Director Zhao sneered; machines ultimately have weaknesses.
At that moment, one of the Mechanical Warriors triggered a trap set by Lin Xi. Several steel cables sprang up suddenly, binding it tightly to the ground.
The opportunity has come! Lin Xi fired without hesitation, the bullets accurately targeting the sensor on the Mechanical Warrior's head. Yet, that Mechanical Warrior astonishingly broke free from the cables in an incredible manner, quickly adjusting its posture and lunging toward Lin Xi.
"Lin Xi, retreat!" Director Zhao's voice echoed in her earpiece.
"I'm fine!" Lin Xi rolled to dodge the Mechanical Warrior's attack, calmly creating distance while continuing to suppress it with gunfire.
Meanwhile, Chen Rui had finished planting explosives. He watched the screen displaying the positions of the Mechanical Warriors and murmured, "Get a little closer... just a bit closer."
When three Mechanical Warriors finally entered the central Area simultaneously, Chen Rui decisively pressed the detonation button.
Boom!
A massive explosion shattered the night sky, illuminating the abandoned factory in a fiery glow. The shockwave destroyed most of the structure, flipping over the three Mechanical Warriors; one was completely blown apart while the other two struggled to rise amidst the flames.
The opportunity has come! Director Zhao shouted coldly, "Eliminate them all!"
Lin Xi, Chen Rui, and Zhou Zheng quickly emerged from their positions and launched a fierce attack on the remaining two Mechanical Warriors. Their firepower intertwined, leaving no escape for the machines.
In the end, both Mechanical Warriors were completely incapacitated under overwhelming firepower.
After the battle ended, the abandoned factory lay in ruins, with the air thick with the smell of gunpowder.
Finally, it’s over. Zhou Zheng collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath.
"Don't let your guard down," Director Zhao said coldly. "The battle may be over, but hidden dangers will not cease."
Lin Xi crouched beside one of the Mechanical Warrior's wreckage, carefully examining its core module.
"There’s a storage crystal here," Lin Xi said. "Maybe we can find some useful information."
"Bring it back to base," Director Zhao nodded. "We need to know where these things came from."
However, just as they prepared to leave, a low electronic voice suddenly emanated from the wreckage: "Target locked. Ultimate weapon activated."
Everyone froze for an instant. The next second, a tremor akin to an earthquake resonated from beneath the abandoned factory as if something massive was awakening.
"Quick, retreat!" Director Zhao shouted, his face pale with anger. This was the true killer move of the undercurrents!
