The atmosphere grew increasingly tense as the entire team, led by Lin Xi, ventured deeper into the seldom-trodden area. The underground elevator descended slowly amidst a dull humming sound, the lights on the walls gradually dimming, replaced by an eerie blue glow that seemed to flow through the air like the energy of Shadow Stone. 0

I don't like the feeling of this place. Wang Ya tightened her grip on her weapon, scanning the surroundings warily, as if someone were watching them. 0

Lin Xi remained silent; she too sensed the inexplicable pressure, as if some unknown entity was lurking in the darkness, observing their every move. 0

"Stay alert," she whispered. "In a place like this, any oversight could be fatal." 0

When the elevator finally came to a stop, they found themselves facing a deep tunnel, its walls crawling with strange crystals that flickered with a faint light, almost as if they were breathing. 0

"What are these things?" Chen Rui crouched down to examine the crystals closely, noting that they appeared to be a variant of Shadow Stone. 0

"Don't touch them," Lin Xi warned sharply. "We don't know how these might affect humans." 0

Chen Rui nodded and stood up, though curiosity still shone in his eyes. He had researched Shadow Stone extensively but had never encountered this form of mutated crystal before. 0

The squad cautiously advanced along the tunnel until they reached a massive metal door. The door was engraved with intricate symbols and patterns that resembled some ancient seal. 0

"This is it," Lin Xi said, raising her head to scrutinize the symbols. According to legends of the Abyss, what lay beyond this door could very well be the location of the key. 0

"But how do we get in?" Zhou Zheng asked, knocking on the door, which echoed dully without revealing any visible switch or input device. 0

"These symbols seem like some kind of triggering mechanism," Chen Rui suggested as he stepped forward and reached out to touch one of the symbols. 0

"Don't mess around!" Lin Xi grabbed his arm. "If this is a trap, we could all be wiped out." 0

"Well, we have to try something," Chen Rui sighed. "We can't just stand here staring at it." 0

Lin Xi furrowed her brow as she carefully examined the symbols on the door. After several minutes of study, she suddenly noticed that one of the symbols bore a striking resemblance to a pattern they had seen earlier in their upper base related to Shadow Stone and Energy Fluctuation. 0

"Try this one," she said, pointing at that symbol. 0

Chen Rui nodded and took out his portable energy device, directing a faint beam of Shadow Stone energy toward the symbol. 0

Moments later, the entire door began to tremble violently as the symbols lit up one by one, forming a complex pattern of light. Finally, with a resounding roar, the door slowly swung open, revealing what lay inside. 0

It was a vast circular hall filled with various mutated crystals. In the center of the hall floated a small stone tablet emitting a soft blue glow. 0

"Is this the key?" Wang Ya asked skeptically. 0

"It might be," Lin Xi replied cautiously as she approached it. Everything around her made her feel profoundly uneasy. "Be careful; places like this are rarely straightforward." 0

Just as she reached out to touch the tablet, the entire hall suddenly shook violently. The surrounding crystals exploded with force, transforming into a surge of blue energy rushing toward the center of the hall. 0

"Back away!" Lin Xi shouted. 0

The crowd quickly dispersed as the energy coalesced, forming a towering figure composed entirely of pure energy, resembling a giant enveloped in blue flames. 0

Is this the Guardian? Zhou Zheng tightened his grip on his weapon, cold sweat trickling down his forehead. 0

It seems so. Lin Xi gritted her teeth, preparing for battle. The goal might be to defeat it or find a way to control the monument! 0

The Guardian let out a deafening roar and swung its massive energy arm towards the group. The team scattered rapidly, bullets and energy beams firing at it, but these attacks only caused its body to tremble slightly; they were unable to inflict any substantial damage. 0

Where is its Energy Core? Lin Xi asked anxiously while dodging the attacks. 0

It’s probably that glowing point on its chest! Chen Rui pointed at the flickering blue light on the Guardian's chest, but we need stronger weapons to break through its defenses! 0

Zhou Zheng, try the Shadow Stone Cannon! Lin Xi shouted loudly. 0

Zhou Zheng quickly adjusted his equipment and aimed at the Guardian's chest. The Shadow Stone Cannon unleashed a dazzling blue beam that struck the Guardian's core. The beam penetrated its body, instantly triggering a violent explosion of energy. 0

After the explosion, the Guardian's figure gradually dissipated, and the entire hall returned to calm. The floating monument continued to emit a soft glow, seemingly unaffected by the battle. 0

It looks like we succeeded. Wang Ya sighed in relief, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead. 0

Lin Xi stepped forward cautiously and took down the monument. The moment she grasped it, a strange power surged into her body, as if some information flooded into her mind. 0

Leader Lin, are you okay? Chen Rui asked with concern. 0

I’m fine, Lin Xi shook her head and placed the monument into her portable storage box. This is just the beginning. Next, we need to figure out how to use this key to unlock the Creator's relics. 0

The team members nodded; although they had just experienced a harrowing battle, there was a glimmer of hope in each of their eyes. 0

To be continued... 0
