The two of them searched more anxiously than ever. Finally, at the last moment, they found the final piece of the Memory Puzzle.
With seven pieces of the Memory Puzzle, a complete image was formed. In the picture, a massive laboratory was engulfed in flames.
Countless experimental subjects struggled and wailed in the fire. In the corner of the laboratory, a girl was trapped inside a special container.
That girl was Xiao Yu.
"Xiao Yu..." Kouya Toyo looked at his sister in the image, tears streaming down his face.
"She... is still alive."
"Where... is she?"
Zhou Shenyong pointed to a marker in the image.
"That's... the highest level of Neon City."
"The Chairman of the Board's office."
"Let's go," Kouya Toyo said. "We need to save her." The two of them rushed out of the ruins and headed toward the highest level of Neon City.
Along the way, they encountered countless rampaging Ability users.
Finally, they arrived at the highest level of Neon City.
Kouya Toyo stood before the office of the Chairman of the Board, taking a deep breath before pushing open the large door.
Before them was a massive glass container, and inside lay a girl, quietly resting.
"Xiaoyu!" Kouya Toyo rushed forward, gazing at his sister within the container.
His eyes brimmed with tears and anger; she must have endured so much suffering.
"Be careful..." Zhou Shenyong cautioned.
At that moment, a voice came from behind them.
"You... have finally arrived."
Kouya Toyo whipped around to see a man standing there.
He was the Chairman of the Board of Neon Kennel.
"You..." Kouya Toyo glared at him, hatred filling his gaze.
"Kouya Toyo," the Chairman of the Board said slowly, "you... are remarkable."
"You... are my most perfect specimen."
"But... you are too dangerous."
"So... I must... eliminate you."
"And... your sister."
The Chairman of the Board raised the remote control in his hand.
"As soon as I press this button," he said, "your sister... will die instantly."
"No..." Kouya Toyo shouted.
He wanted to stop him.
But it was already too late.
The Chairman of the Board pressed the button.
"Xiao Yu!" Kouya Toyo cried out in despair.
But at that moment, Xiao Yu in the container suddenly opened her eyes.
In her gaze, a silver light flickered.
"Brother..." she called softly.
"Xiao Yu... you..." Kouya Toyo looked at his sister in shock.
"Brother... I'm... fine," Xiao Yu said with a smile.
"I... am no longer... the person I used to be."
"I... have awakened."
Xiao Yu's body began to emit a silver light.
Her Ability had been activated.
"This... is impossible..." the Chairman of the Board stared at Xiao Yu in disbelief.
"How could you..."
"Nothing is impossible," Xiao Yu replied coldly, "because... I am Kouya Toyo's sister."
"I... am Jiang Ye Yu."
Jiang Ye Yu's body slowly floated up from the container.
Behind her, a pair of silver wings appeared.
“Now,” she looked at the Chairman of the Board, “it’s my turn.”
A flicker of murderous intent flashed in Jiang Ye Yu's eyes.
“No…” the Chairman of the Board retreated in terror.
“You can’t… kill me…”
“I… am… your… creator…”
“Shut up!” Jiang Ye Yu shouted angrily.
She swung her wings, and a beam of silver light shot towards the Chairman of the Board.
“Ah…” the Chairman of the Board let out a scream and fell to the ground.
“It’s over…” Jiang Ye Yu said slowly.
She looked at Kouya Toyo, a smile spreading across her face.
“Brother… we… are free.”
Kouya Toyo stepped forward and tightly embraced his sister.
"Xiao Yu..." he choked out, "Brother... finally... found you."
"Mm," Jiang Ye Yu nodded, tears streaming down her cheeks, her voice a bit hoarse. "Brother... let's... go home."
"Okay," Kouya Toyo's voice trembled. "Let's... go home."
The two of them held each other tightly as they walked out of the office, sunlight pouring down on them, warm and bright.
At that moment, Neon Kennel would completely collapse.
Everything had come to an end.
Zhou Shenyong stood amidst the ruins, holding a woman, watching their departing figures.
A look of contentment spread across his face.
"Sister..." he whispered softly, "I... have finally... avenged you."
He turned and walked deeper into the ruins.
