Ling Xue returned to campus, regaining the identity of Ling Yu. At this moment, a hint of tenderness flickered in his eyes as he hurried toward the dormitory, his mind swirling with a myriad of thoughts. 0

As soon as he stepped into the dormitory, a strong and mixed odor assaulted him. The floor resembled a forgotten battlefield, dust covering every surface, and garbage strewn about haphazardly. Used tissues lay like tattered flags, scattered chaotically in every corner; food wrappers sprawled like defeated soldiers, lying in disarray. Several instant noodle cups were tilted on the table, their broth dried up and emitting a nauseating stench. 0

The bedding on the bed looked as if it had been ravaged by a storm, piled up in disarray, with some pitifully fallen onto the filthy floor, trampled mercilessly. Clothes appeared like homeless wanderers—some hung precariously from the bedpost, others crumpled on the chair, and some simply piled on the floor, seemingly lamenting their abandonment by their owner. Socks lay scattered like lost children, one here and one there, exuding a pungent odor. 0

The table had become a chaotic junkyard, with books, notes, drink bottles, and chargers piled together in disarray, as if hosting a chaotic gathering. Posters and notes were haphazardly plastered on the walls like patchy repairs, making the entire dormitory seem even more disorderly. 0

A heavyset roommate sprawled across his bed playing mobile games, his hair greasy enough to drip oil, his face shining with an oily sheen, and his clothes wrinkled as if they had been crumpled countless times. A Fei sat at the desk staring at his computer, surrounded by snack wrappers and empty drink bottles; dust coated the keyboard as if it hadn't been cleaned in ages. A Le was busy organizing his backpack in preparation for studying in the library. His bed was relatively tidy but seemed a mere trivial improvement amidst the surrounding chaos. 0

Ling Yu stood at the doorway, witnessing all this with a surge of indescribable complex emotions. He suddenly realized that he could no longer adapt to this chaotic male lifestyle. Frowning with a face full of helplessness and confusion, he felt lost in this once-familiar yet now strange environment. 0

He slowly sat down beside his bed and looked around, filled with bewilderment. He didn't know how to adapt to this new life or where he should go from here. But he understood that he had to make an effort to adapt and find a way of living that belonged to him. 0

"Look who's back—it's A Yu!" 0

"That's right; I'm back." To avoid physical contact with A Fei, who was so excited he nearly lunged at him, Ling Yu skillfully sidestepped. 0

Then Ling Yu picked up a mop and began meticulously cleaning the floor. He diligently cleared every corner without missing any dirt or dust. While cleaning, he patiently answered his roommates' questions—whether about studies or daily life—providing detailed responses one by one. He tried to maintain distance to avoid unnecessary physical contact, which only deepened his roommates' confusion about why he was acting so unusually today. 0

"Ling Yu, why are you so diligent today?" the heavyset roommate couldn't help but ask. 0

"Well, I'm in a good mood today and just want to clean up the dorm," Ling Yu replied with a smile that radiated satisfaction and pride. 0

His roommates watched Ling Yu's busy figure in surprise. They had never seen him so actively cleaning before; his diligence and attention to detail contrasted sharply with their usual impression of him. 0

A Fei and the heavyset roommate exchanged glances as if they shared an unspoken understanding; they both sensed something was off but chose not to voice their concerns. 0

A Le sat nearby munching on snacks while quickly typing messages on his phone. He occasionally glanced at Ling Yu's busy figure with a teasing glint in his eyes and a subtle smile playing on his lips. 0

"Hey, it looks like our handsome roommate has completely come out of his breakup shadow. I was planning to come find you in a few days so we could go out and relax together; now it seems you're all good." 0

"I was indeed a bit foolish before for holding Liu Ting in such high regard. Now I just want to focus on finishing my studies as soon as possible." 0

After finishing cleaning the floor, Ling Yu began organizing the clutter on the table. He neatly arranged books side by side, stacked notes beside them, and categorized drink bottles and chargers separately. In no time at all, the table transformed into an orderly space. 0

Looking at the refreshed dormitory, Ling Yu felt a surge of accomplishment swell within him. He wiped sweat from his forehead and breathed slightly heavier. The heavyset roommate, A Fei, and A Le stared at him in astonishment as if they were looking at someone they didn't recognize. 0

"Ling Yu, you've changed so much!" A Fei exclaimed. "I've never seen you so keen on cleanliness before." 0

Ling Yu smiled but said nothing. Deep down he understood that after everything he had been through, his mindset had undergone significant changes. He no longer wanted to drift through life aimlessly but instead aimed to face life positively and make some changes. 0

A Le put down his phone and came over to pat Ling Yu on the shoulder. "Not bad at all! From now on our dorm will rely on you to keep it tidy." 0

Ling Yu shook his head. "Let's all work together; that's how we can keep our dorm clean." 0

In the following days, Ling Yu maintained this positive attitude. He would wake up early every day to study at the library, and in the evenings, he took the initiative to clean their dormitory. Influenced by him, his roommates also began to pay attention to the cleanliness of their living space, no longer carelessly throwing trash around as they had before. "We should help you share some of this," A Fei suggested, and others nodded in agreement. Gradually, a new understanding formed within the dormitory, with everyone contributing to keeping their environment tidy. In such an atmosphere, their relationships became more harmonious. It seemed that the effects of our heartbreak were quite positive after all. 0
