The feeling was like a wisp of ethereal fragrance, faint yet lingering in her heart, making her acutely aware of the emptiness and confusion within her amidst what seemed like a passionate indulgence. Ling Xue thought perhaps she should ask Ling Na if she still had any unfulfilled wishes.
She gazed at Ling Na with gentle eyes and softly inquired, "Ling Na, do you have any wishes that have yet to be realized?" Her voice was filled with concern and curiosity, as if she longed to explore the hopes hidden deep within Ling Na.
Ling Na paused for a moment, lost in thought. Her gaze became distant, as if reminiscing about the past. After a brief silence, she slowly revealed, "Actually, I do have a few small wishes. I yearn to travel to a charming place, to appreciate the scenery and experience the culture."
As Ling Xue listened to Ling Na's words, her eyes sparkled with excitement; plans began to form in her mind. "Ling Na, then let's go to Dali first. I've heard that there are enchanting landscapes, the Cangshan Mountains and Erhai Lake, ancient towns, and warm sunshine. We can stroll along the cobblestone streets, feel the gentle breeze on our faces, and admire the beautiful scenery. We can taste the local delicacies and immerse ourselves in the unique culture."
Ling Xue spoke tenderly. A look of surprise spread across Ling Na's face, as if the possibility of her dreams suddenly became tangible. "Really? That sounds wonderful! Dali has always been a place I've longed to visit."
Ling Xue smiled and nodded. "Then it's settled. We'll go to Dali together and embark on a beautiful journey where your wishes can come true one by one."
In the days that followed, Ling Xue began meticulously planning their trip to Dali. She researched various travel guides about Dali, booked suitable accommodations, and mapped out their itinerary. She hoped to give Ling Na an unforgettable travel experience and help her fulfill this small wish.
Finally, on a sunny day, Ling Xue and Ling Na set off for their journey to Dali. As they stood on Dali's soil, breathing in the fresh air and basking in the warm sunlight, their hearts were filled with anticipation and joy. They knew this would be a journey filled with surprises and beauty.
Ling Xue held Liu Yichen close as she sat quietly in the airport lounge, her eyes reflecting both excitement for the upcoming trip and a hint of barely noticeable fatigue. The child slept peacefully in her warm embrace, his little face rosy like a ripe apple.
At that moment, a well-dressed man approached slowly. His eyes sparkled with curiosity and admiration as he smiled at Ling Xue and struck up a conversation. "Hello, beautiful lady. Are you traveling alone with your child?"
His voice was deep and resonant, echoing through the air like an elegant cello. Ling Xue looked up slightly at him, offering a polite smile as she replied. However, the man was undeterred; he continued to find topics to discuss in an attempt to engage Ling Xue further.
His gaze revealed an undeniable curiosity and admiration as if Ling Xue were a stunning painting he couldn't help but want to savor.
Just then, Ling Na arrived with two nannies, Zhang Ma and Li Ma, pushing a stroller. Inside the stroller, Liu Siyao gazed around with wide eyes, curiously observing the world around him. Upon seeing Ling Na approach, the man seemed to realize his presence was somewhat inappropriate and hurriedly turned away.
Yet before he left, he couldn't resist glancing back at Ling Xue one last time; his eyes still filled with longing as if she were a treasure he yearned for but could never reach.
Ling Na came over and noticed Ling Xue's expression; it seemed she understood something. The corners of her mouth lifted slightly into a knowing smile. "What's wrong? Did someone bother you?"
Ling Na asked with concern but laced with subtle teasing. Ling Xue shook her head with an amused smile. "No, just an annoying person. Let's not let him affect our mood; let's look forward to our trip to Dali."
Ling Na nodded in agreement while her gaze fell upon Liu Yichen and Liu Siyao, her heart brimming with warmth and happiness. She actually enjoyed this moment—watching Ling Xue being approached by a man reminded her of herself in the past.
Those moments of being noticed and admired always stirred an inexplicable joy within one’s heart. At that moment, Liu Yichen and Liu Siyao seemed to sense the adults' emotions; they waved their little hands and made cooing sounds, adding warmth and anticipation for their upcoming journey.
