As I watched the phone ring, Kong Jian coldly huffed and told me, "No phone calls during work hours!" He then turned and walked away. I sneered at his retreating figure, hung up the phone, and typed a message to Wang Meng.
"If you don’t want me to hand this account over to your manager, Liu Fei, then make sure Kong Jian gets a beating!"
After sending the message, Wang Meng's phone rang again. I hung up once more; there was no need for useless chatter! After a few attempts, Wang Meng finally stopped calling when I didn’t answer. Before long, I saw him emerge from the office and approach the wandering Kong Jian.
"Come with me!" Wang Meng said coldly to Kong Jian. I had threatened Wang Meng, and he must have thought it was related to Kong Jian; otherwise, why would I want him to beat up Kong Jian?
At that moment, Wang Meng was clearly furious, and he wouldn’t hold back. Of course, he would also question Kong Jian about whether he had offended someone. But if he dragged him back to the office for a beating, I wouldn’t be able to see it!
"Do it in front of everyone!" I secretly edited another text message and sent it. This might expose my presence at the scene, but at this point, I was satisfied with Wang Meng's reaction. With this leverage over him, I was no longer afraid of being exposed.
Wang Meng pulled out his phone and frowned as he looked around. His face darkened while Kong Jian appeared utterly confused, not knowing what was happening.
Suddenly—smack!
Wang Meng obediently raised his hand and struck Kong Jian hard across the face! The sound echoed sharply! It was exhilarating to watch!
The unexpected turn of events left everyone present stunned. What was happening? No one knew! Not even Kong Jian.
"Wang, Brother Wang, what’s going on?" Kong Jian asked in bewilderment. But Wang Meng couldn’t explain; after all, there were so many people around—employees and customers alike. How could he ask? "Did you offend someone recently? Did you bring trouble here?"
Then things escalated further; Liu Fei might find out about this incident and would naturally ask what happened. How could Kong Jian explain?
So—smack! "How dare you ask me that!" Wang Meng yelled angrily as he delivered another hard slap to Kong Jian's face. Then, right in front of everyone, he began to pummel Kong Jian mercilessly. The music stopped, the dancing ceased; Wang Meng’s assault on Kong Jian became the only performance in Tianchi.
Kong Jian kept asking what had happened, but Wang Meng just wouldn't say anything and continued to hit him! There were many people watching around, yet not a single person dared to intervene. Everyone just stood by, watching as Kong Jian was beaten into a pulp by Wang Meng, lying on the ground groaning and still asking Wang Meng, "Brother Wang, why is this happening? Why?"
I couldn't help but sneer at Kong Jian's plight. What else could it be? When you live a life like this, you eventually have to pay the price. If you bully others, don't be surprised when someone bullies you back!
After Wang Meng finished with Kong Jian, he shoved his hands into his pockets and looked around. At that moment, my phone in my pocket started vibrating. I knew it—Wang Meng would definitely call me. Was he trying to sneakily see who was messing with him?
Heh, it's not my time to step in yet. I let my phone vibrate without answering.
Wang Meng scanned the area; everyone looked just as confused as he did. Perhaps he didn't notice anyone picking up their phone. He frowned and turned back to the groaning Kong Jian, saying, "Tend to your wounds and then come to my office!"
With that, Wang Meng turned and left. I smiled, waiting for Wang Meng's reply.
I sent a message: "What exactly do you want? How can I get my debt repaid?"
Wang Meng's text came through quickly. I chuckled; it seemed this debt was indeed a significant threat to him. But even so, I wanted to add a little more pressure!
I edited my response: "I don’t want anything in particular; it’s just that my brother has been treated unfairly while mingling with you guys, and I'm a bit unhappy about it. Just a little revenge—be careful not to get too cocky; you might not even know how you end up dead."
I sent that cheerful message back to Wang Meng. It was about time for me to make an appearance, but I needed to do it the right way. Wang Meng's personality was one of being lustful yet cowardly; creating an image of a ruthless big brother would be much better than going in alone. As they say, use a tiger's skin as a banner—I'm just borrowing that tiger skin!
And remember, when dealing with enemies, never let them see through you! This is an important lesson I learned from my time undercover.
"Who are you?" came Wang Meng's response. "I'm with Tian Ye Gang. You think you can threaten me without fearing retaliation?"
"I dare to threaten you because I'm not afraid of retaliation; feel free to try!" I replied.
"Then if you're so tough, why do you let your brother hang out with us?" Wang Meng shot back.
