"Haha! There's nothing wrong with it, take it! From now on, you can stick with me. With your talents, a million is just pocket change!" Cao Minghui laughed heartily and then told me the amount. At that moment, Lu Qiang also chimed in, advising me that Cao Tangzhu was indeed very righteous and that I should just follow him. 0

I smiled helplessly, sighed, and reached out to take the bank card containing over a million. Damn! This feels fantastic! 0

Well then, I guess I’ll be counting on you, Cao Tangzhu. 0

"Haha! No problem! No problem!" Cao Minghui laughed again. Lu Qiang then suggested that we should celebrate today’s event, and soon after, Cao Minghui ordered two bottles of fine liquor, and we began to drink. 0

During the drinking process, I asked Cao Minghui, "Cao Tangzhu, what should I do now? Should I directly join your side or stay with Lu Ge here at Xiong Li's?" 0

I was inquiring about the next steps to take, but I believed that I didn’t need to think too much about it; Cao Minghui would naturally have a plan for me. 0

"You should continue to stay with Xiong Li for now. Keep our matters under wraps. In a couple of days, the boss might want to see you. Xiong Li should have told you to speak well of him in front of the boss, right?" Cao Minghui asked with a smile. After hearing this, I nodded and replied, "Yes, he did. So you mean I should speak ill of Xiong Li in front of the boss?" 0

"That’s unnecessary; it’s too low-level and won’t serve any purpose," Cao Minghui said with a grin before handing me a bag. "Right now, you're closer to Xiong Li than Lu Qiang is. You need to find a way to get this bag into Xiong Li's house. Once the boss takes care of things in the Southern District, this bag will ensure Xiong Li's downfall." 0

"Oh? What’s inside?" I asked curiously as I took the bag from Cao Minghui. 0

"Ice!" he replied with a smile. 0

"Ice?" I was taken aback. This is a type of drug! And this bag is full; it’s quite a substantial amount! 0

But how could this lead to Xiong Li's downfall? Is it banned by Tian Ye Group? 0

"Yes, you don’t need to worry about the details; just make sure to place it in his house," Cao Minghui said with a smile. After hearing this, I nodded and didn’t say anything further. Since Cao Minghui said it was fine, then so be it; he must have more confidence than I do. 0

After finishing the meal with Cao Minghui, he left for something urgent, leaving only Lu Qiang and me behind. Lu Qiang expressed his apologies for betraying me. 0

"Hey brother, trust me; following Cao Tangzhu is definitely better than sticking with Xiong Li. Xiong Li can’t compare to Cao Tangzhu at all. I mentioned this to Cao Tangzhu for your own good," he said. 0

"For my own good," I nodded. I had expected Lu Qiang to apologize but didn’t anticipate such a shallow excuse. Damn it; you betrayed me for my own good? 0

However, I didn’t want to dwell on it too much since all of this was part of my plan anyway; I didn’t really feel betrayed. 0

"I have a question for you: why would placing this bag in Xiong Li's house lead to his downfall? Is this stuff banned by Tian Ye Group?" 0

In the past, the prohibitions were quite severe; if caught, one would be sent to the police station. Recently, however, things have loosened up a bit. Xiong Li decided to test the waters, but he still received a warning from above—it's still prohibited. 0

Lu Qiang told me this, and I fell into deep thought. Is this thing really that harmful? So now even the head of Tian Ye Group has banned it? That doesn’t seem right. The current head of Tian Ye Group harmed Linna's family; he can't be a good person. Would he really care about such matters? As long as he can make money, right? 0

I couldn't figure it out and didn't want to dwell on it. For now, this issue felt distant from me. My priority was to secure Xiong Li's position first. 0

And what about secretly placing this package in Xiong Li's home? It sounds simple, but if Xiong Li catches me, I would be in serious trouble. He would definitely kill me, and Cao Minghui wouldn’t come to my rescue either. 0

So I needed to plan this carefully. After parting ways with Lu Qiang, I called Liu Sen and discussed our strategy. In the end, we settled on a plan where I would enter Xiong Li's house while Liu Sen assisted me from outside. He would help me pass the package out through the window from the rooftop, and once I had it, I would hide it in his home. 0

This way, when I entered the house without carrying anything and left without a package, Xiong Li wouldn’t suspect anything. As long as he didn’t catch me red-handed taking the package from outside, even if he discovered it later, I could claim it wasn’t mine since I hadn’t brought anything in. 0

Without further ado, we confirmed our action plan and went to scout Xiong Li's house. I had been there once before; he lived on the third floor of a low-rise building in a neighborhood called Happiness Community. Liu Sen quickly assessed how long the rope needed to be. 0

After scouting the location, I returned home without telling Liu Sen what was in the package, but I felt it was important to inform Linna. 0

"What? Ice?" Linna was shocked by my revelation and pondered for a moment. 0

I had thought they were ruthless; I never expected them to impose restrictions like my father did. 0

"You’re thinking too early," I said with a smile. "Where are we now? Your father just passed away not long ago. I suspect they haven’t fully taken control of Tian Ye Group yet. Such actions require complete trust in their subordinates; they might not trust their people down below right now and fear that someone might alert the police." 0

I speculated that given they weren’t good people, this possibility seemed more likely. 0

"That makes sense," Linna nodded. Then I asked her if she had any guesses about who harmed her father since there couldn’t be many capable of such actions. 0

"Whoever managed to kill Lin Tianfeng and quietly seize control of Tian Ye Group must be quite limited," I remarked. "I feel like you should at least have one suspect." 0

"I’ve been thinking about that too," Linna sighed. "But I haven’t figured out who it is." 0

I shook my head helplessly; there wasn’t much point in pondering this now. Even if we knew who it was, it wouldn’t change anything. We should focus on handling our immediate tasks first. 0

"Now that Xiong Li has fallen, what do you plan to sell to Cao Minghui?" Linna asked me. We had discussed this before; Cao Minghui held leverage over me that made him think he completely controlled me and could comfortably place me in Xiong Li’s position. In other words, I used that leverage to gain his trust. 0

Cao Minghui had been at odds with Xiong Li for so long that he must have calculated countless ways for Xiong Li to meet his end. This time could very well be his chance to eliminate Xiong Li, and it was time for me to sell him some leverage. 0

"I won’t tell you," I said with a grin. In truth, I hadn’t figured it out yet; creating leverage isn’t difficult—I just wanted to tease Linna a bit. 0

Linna pouted and said dismissively, "As if anyone wants to know." 0

Then she ignored me completely. Watching her sulk amused me; perhaps I was crazy or just fond of her—either way, everything about Linna seemed delightful to me. 0

The next day, I called Xiong Li to say I wanted to visit. By now, I was quite the favored person in Xiong Li's eyes, so a visit would surely not be refused. We agreed to meet in the evening. 0

During the day, I had nothing much to do, so I took the bank card that Cao Minghui had given me and went to the bank. I transferred all of the one hundred thirty thousand plus from that card to my own account. 0

Damn! What a thrill! 0

After completing the transfer, I felt a rush of joy as I received a text message showing my new balance. Ever since my undercover operation in Northeast ended, I hadn't seen this much money! 0

Time to buy a car! No doubt about it! 0

With my bank card in hand, I hailed a taxi and headed straight for the Land Rover dealership. 0

"Driver, take me to the Land Rover store!" 0

Once I got into the car, I told the driver how much I liked Land Rovers. It was such a delightful feeling! The driver acknowledged with a nod, and just as he started the engine, my phone suddenly buzzed with a text message. 0

A bank notification! 0

The message read: "Your supplementary card was used on November 7th at the mall to purchase a limited edition Chanel bag for four hundred ninety-seven thousand!" 0

What the hell! 0

"Driver, change of plans! Take me to Volkswagen instead." 0

I told the taxi driver. There was no doubt that this money was spent by Linna. Yesterday, I had mentioned my earnings to her, and she knew that today I would be transferring money into my own account. 0

This girl really acts fast! 0

But buying a Volkswagen for several tens of thousands wasn’t too bad either. 0

Ding ding! 0

Another message came through! 0

What the hell! 0

"Your supplementary card was used on November 7th at the mall to purchase a Chanel bag totaling one hundred eighty-nine thousand four hundred!" 0

Over a hundred thousand gone? 0

This is happening way too fast! 0

Why is she buying so many bags? Two bags could rival gold in value! This girl is really expensive to maintain! 0

I felt like my heart was being ripped apart, but I didn’t call Linna. She used to be the little princess of Tian Ye Group; any bag she liked would be top-notch. One hundred thirty thousand had dwindled down to one hundred seven thousand! With just over twenty thousand left, it wouldn’t be enough for high-end items anymore. She probably wouldn’t buy any more bags. 0

"Driver, change of plans again!" 0
