As they returned to the Underworld, they happened to run into Judge Cui stepping out. 0

One of Judge Cui's feet was outside the gates of Yama's Hall, while the other remained inside. His mouth hung open in shock as he stared at Xie Bian and the girl who had just fallen from the sky. 0

“Thank you, Xie... Bian!” Judge Cui stammered, quickly retracting his foot from outside the hall. He then shouted at the top of his lungs, “Why did you bring a woman back with you?” 0

Judge Cui's voice was well-known throughout the Underworld, piercing and sharp as if someone had caught him in a scandal. 0

At this shout, a crowd of curious ghosts quickly gathered outside Yama's Hall. 0

Hearing the commotion, Fan Wu Jiu wrapped himself in a blanket and rushed out, pushing his way to the front. He looked at Judge Cui, who appeared terrified as if he were facing his doom, and then at Xie Bian, whose face was filled with impatience and anger. A wave of delight washed over Fan Wu Jiu; finally, after centuries, there was a good show to watch. 0

He immediately ran over to a pillar, peeking curiously beside King Qin Guang, and asked for some sunflower seeds. He began to munch on them with great enjoyment. 0

Xie Bian surveyed the chaotic scene before him, his lips twitching involuntarily. 0

He inwardly lamented that his doomsday seemed truly imminent. 0

Sure enough, the girl who had been trembling on her feet collapsed into Xie Bian's arms upon seeing the bizarre array of spirits surrounding them. 0

Xie Bian's first instinct was to toss her into Blood River. However, just as he grasped her hand and lifted his gaze, he noticed the crowd of ghosts staring at him with eager curiosity, whispering amongst themselves. 0

“Hey, hey, what is Master Xie planning to do?” 0

“Oh my, could it be that Master Xie has such ill intentions, planning to ruin the girl and destroy the evidence?” 0

“Hey, hey, what do you mean by ‘ruin’?” 0

“Speaking of that night, under the dark sky and howling wind, it was the perfect time for misdeeds. Master Xie…” 0

Xie Bian listened to these distasteful discussions, a layer of frost instantly settling on his face, as if covered by a sheet of ice. 0

He turned around sharply, looking at the girl in his arms who was motionless and clearly unconscious, filled with helplessness and anger. 0

Xie Bian then glanced at Judge Cui, only to see King Qin Guang, Fan Wu Jiu, and Judge Cui squatting by the pillar, munching on sunflower seeds while watching him with malicious amusement, their eyes gleaming as if they were watching an exciting performance. 0

Xie Bian felt smoke begin to rise from his head; he could no longer suppress his fury. 0

King Qin Guang, engrossed in the gossip, finished the sunflower seeds in his hand and tried to snatch some from Fan Wu Jiu. 0

However, Fan Wu Jiu wrapped himself tightly in a blanket, refusing to share. 0

King Qin Guang pouted, secretly grumbling about how he had been so generous earlier to give that ungrateful wretch Fan Wu Jiu a handful of seeds. 0

Just as he was about to turn and ask Judge Cui for more seeds, he suddenly heard Xie Bian grinding his teeth: “Yama, what do you think we should do about this?” 0

Upon hearing this, King Qin Guang involuntarily shuddered and instinctively hid behind Judge Cui. But then he thought that would be too un-Yama-like, so he steeled himself and peeked out at Xie Bian. Clearing his throat, he raised his pinky finger and sang in a mocking tone: “Bian—how can you be so heartless…” 0

Amidst various gossip and rumors, everyone quickly concocted a dramatic tale titled "The Ignorant Girl Misplaces Her Affections, Cold-faced Wuchang Callously Disposes of Her." 0

Xie Bian looked at the absurd scene before him, feeling as if he were trapped in a dream. He kept repeating to himself, "It must be that my timing is off, or perhaps the way I approached this is wrong." 0

He gazed at the innocent-looking girl on the bed and felt that all the cultivation and refinement he had worked so hard to achieve over the years seemed utterly worthless in her presence, like a fleeting puff of air that dissipated the moment it was released. 0

Though his words were somewhat crude, Xie Bian found himself past caring at this moment. 0

"Your name," he said, suppressing the anger boiling within him, determined to communicate with the girl in a manner befitting a normal human being. 0
