Mark was, after all, a frequent visitor to Hong Kong Island and was quite familiar with the situation there. The Golden Coast Resort Hotel was owned by the Azure Green Society and Lin Rumei, Miss Lin. The audacity of these individuals indicated they were indeed members of the Azure Green Society.
Moreover, Mark had some connections on Hong Kong Island. Although he couldn't claim to know the true upper echelons of society, these individuals before him were hardly high-ranking; at best, they were minor leaders within the Azure Green Society.
"I’m friends with Brother Xiong from your Azure Green Society. We’ve shared meals and drinks before; we’re all friends here. Why don’t we just let this matter go? I’ll treat you all to dinner another time," Mark said with a smile.
"What’s your name?" the middle-aged man asked, sizing Mark up.
"My name is Mark, and I’m from Great Britain," Mark replied politely. Many foreigners looked similar to the Huaxia people, making it hard to distinguish their origins. Since Hong Kong Island was once a British colony, Mark emphasized his British identity to assert a sense of superiority.
"I’ll make a call to check," the middle-aged man said indifferently as he picked up his phone and dialed a number.
Seeing the middle-aged man making a call for confirmation, Mark felt relieved and turned to Lin Jingzhu and Zhou Xuemei, saying, "It’s fine. I know some people here in Hong Kong Island; he’ll give me face, so you don’t need to worry."
After hanging up, the middle-aged man remained expressionless and said, "Brother Xiong said to give you face; let’s just consider this matter settled for tonight."
"Thank you very much," Mark replied with a broad smile, feeling excited. He had been under Jiang Chen's pressure all day and finally found an opportunity to breathe easy, shaking off the previous frustration.
Zhou Xuemei and the others also sighed in relief.
"We’re leaving," the middle-aged man said coolly before turning away, uninterested in further engagement with Mark and his group. Given that Mark had some connections, it seemed best to let it go this time.
Just when everyone thought the matter was resolved, a voice slowly interrupted as they turned to leave.
"Don’t rush off just yet."
The speaker was none other than Jiang Chen.
Upon hearing Jiang Chen's words, Mark's expression changed dramatically; especially Mark himself glared at Jiang Chen, nearly bursting into an angry outburst. Just as he had sent these troublesome individuals away, Jiang Chen had the audacity to hold them back—wasn’t that asking for trouble?
"What do you want, Jiang Chen?" Mark frowned and asked in a low voice.
The Azure Green Society members also turned around. Seeing Jiang Chen, their expressions remained indifferent; they didn’t take him seriously.
"What’s going on?" the middle-aged man asked impatiently as he looked at Jiang Chen.
"Your son kicked a ball that hit my friend. What do you think should be done about it?" Jiang Chen replied calmly while sitting in his chair.
"Jiang Chen, let’s just drop this matter; don’t get involved," Zhou Xuemei quickly rushed over to Jiang Chen and whispered urgently.
"If their son isn’t being disciplined by anyone else, then I’ll take it upon myself to discipline him," Jiang Chen said with a faint smile.
The middle-aged couple's expressions darkened significantly; they were clearly displeased. Especially seeing Jiang Chen’s nonchalant demeanor made them even angrier as it suggested he didn’t regard them at all.
"What do you think you are? You think you can discipline my son?" the middle-aged man retorted angrily.
“Ding Yan, what do you think we should do with disobedient children?” Jiang Chen asked, ignoring the middle-aged man.
“Leave it to me; I’ll take care of this little brat,” Ding Yan replied with a smile, fully understanding Jiang Chen's intent. Having entered the Shadow Assassin Organization's training camp at a young age, Ding Yan knew that any disobedient child there was taught to behave obediently.
