Qin Ze bowed slightly and said to Yan Kongyue, "Is my house really haunted?"
"Yes! A male ghost has been following you for half a month."
Counting on his fingers, Qin Ze slapped his forehead. "It really has been half a month."
"Let's go!" Yan Kongyue stood up and headed outside.
"Where are we going?"
"Of course, we're going to your house. How else can we catch the ghost?" Yan Kongyue glanced at Lin Qian, who immediately understood and pulled Huo Jingyu toward the garage.
"Little sister, are you sure you can catch the ghost?" Qin Ze looked at Yan Kongyue in disbelief, scrutinizing her from head to toe.
Smack! Qin Ze received a light slap on the back of his neck from Lin Lang, who gritted his teeth and said, "If you keep doubting my sister, you might as well go with that male ghost!"
"Ah, no, no! It's not that! I'm just worried about her safety; I can't explain it to your family!"
"Don't worry!" Yan Kongyue appeared in front of him out of nowhere and patted his chest. "Anyone who can hurt me is already dead."
"Oh!" Qin Ze suddenly felt exhausted for days lifted from him; he felt much lighter and more energetic.
Meanwhile, Lin Lang noticed the dark energy surrounding Qin Ze dissipate as Yan Kongyue's palm absorbed it when she patted him.
"Let's go!"
Lin Qian drove a business vehicle out of the garage. Since Yan Kongyue joined the Lin family, they rarely had a driver; their conversations were not something just anyone could handle.
"You have a younger brother!"
Suddenly asked about his brother, Qin Ze was taken aback. He could tell that Yan Kongyue was certain about it. Although he didn't know how she knew he had a brother, he answered directly, "That's right! He's studying abroad."
Yan Kongyue shook her head and remained silent, but Lin Lang sat up straight; there must be a reason for Yan Kongyue's words.
"Yan Kongyue, is that male ghost related to Qin Yang?"
"Yes!"
"How is that possible? My brother is overseas; how could he be related to him?" Qin Ze suddenly felt a bit regretful; this girl seemed unreliable.
"Are you sure your brother is abroad?"
"Of course!"
"Did you see him off at the airport?"
"No."
Before he could finish, Yan Kongyue asked again, "Have you video chatted since he went abroad?"
"No."
"What about voice calls?"
"No. He said he was busy with his studies and that the environment was unfamiliar." Qin Ze found it hard to continue. He had tried to video call Qin Yang, but either no one answered or he was rejected.
At first, Qin Yang would reply with a text message. He would say he was in class or busy reviewing his studies. But later on, when Qin Ze sent messages, his brother hardly responded at all.
"You didn't suspect anything when your brother left?"
Qin Ze clenched his fists as a sense of foreboding washed over him. The night before Qin Yang left, he had gone to see him. At that time, Qin Yang had been silent, exuding an air of low pressure. When Qin Ze asked him questions, his responses were half-hearted and distant.
He thought his brother simply didn't want to go abroad, but as his grades continued to decline, it became clear that if he didn't go abroad, he might not even get into a good university. Although their family had resources, he needed to have the ability himself.
Seeing that Qin Ze was silent, Yan Kongyue didn't press further. However, Lin Lang had already guessed something from Yan Kongyue's words.
