"Kid, if you keep that attitude, I'll make sure to take care of that sickly brat. Hmph, do you think just because you've gone abroad, you can escape from my grasp? Let me tell you the truth, I haven't had my fun yet!"
Although he didn't say it outright, Qin Yang understood that Xu Anping wouldn't let him go, nor would he spare his mother.
However, no matter what, as long as he left home, he would have the chance to settle the score with those bastards. He would definitely return for revenge.
On the day he was sent off, his emotions were complicated; there was joy in his impending freedom and sadness in leaving home. He cried as he hugged his mother and grandfather goodbye, reminding them to take care of themselves. His brother was supposed to take him to the airport, but with the situation at hand, he could only ruffle his younger brother's hair and tell him, "You've grown up now. When you're out there, be cautious and watch your words and actions. After all, it's not as safe abroad as it is here."
His mother also smiled through her tears to comfort him. "You're a big boy now; why are you still crying?" Yet she too ended up weeping like a child.
"Mom, I'll be back for Christmas!"
"Alright, we'll go pick you up together!"
"Okay!" Qin Yang took one last look at his mother and grandfather before waving goodbye to his brother. Throughout the entire process, Xu Anping never showed up.
But once he got into the car, he realized that the driver had been replaced by Xu Anping. At that moment, he didn't think much of it; after all, he was about to leave Gao Fei behind. Once he became strong enough to protect those he cared about, everything would be fine.
Little did he know that this was the beginning of an irreversible path.
On the way, Xu Anping used a fuel excuse to pull into a gas station and took advantage of Qin Yang's moment of distraction to knock him out.
When Qin Yang woke up, he found himself locked in a small room without windows. The room contained only a bed, and his hands and feet were tied to the corners of a pillar while something was stuffed in his mouth.
From then on, Xu Anping would come in at different times each day to torment him before leaving again. Sometimes it would be two or three days before he was given any food.
Xu Anping never treated his wounds; they festered and rotted over time. One day, more than half a month later, Xu Anping assaulted him again and ultimately strangled him to death.
After Qin Yang died, Xu Anping bricked his body into the wall and even bought a talisman to stick on the door.
Even after Qin Yang's soul departed from his body, he couldn't escape that room. Later on, Xu Anping brought back a girl who had a fiery temperament. During her struggle, she accidentally knocked down the talisman on the door. That was when Qin Yang managed to leave that dark little room. Once outside, he discovered that he was in the backyard of his family's villa, beneath the storage rooms in the basement.
He wanted to find someone to save that girl but realized no one could see him at home. Xu Anping often visited as well; he was terrified since that man was his murderer. So at night, he slipped out and headed toward his brother's house.
After hearing Qin Yang's story, everyone in the room fell silent.
Suddenly: "Did you walk here?" Yan Kongyue caught onto something.
"Yes!" Qin Yang nodded.
"Foolish child, do you not know that ghosts have another name?"
Qin Yang shook his head; Lin Lang and others also didn’t understand what Yan Kongyue meant!
"A Piao! Why aren't you floating? If a ghost starts to float, it would be incredibly fast, and I wouldn't be able to catch up."
"You're right! How did I not think of that?" Yan Kongyue shifted the topic, and the heavy resentment in Qin Yang's body lightened considerably.
