"Hmph, wherever they go, they are the Bai Family, representing the entire Bai clan. If they act recklessly without the family head's permission, wouldn't that ruin the Bai family's century-old foundation?"
"Not necessarily. In a large forest, there are all kinds of birds. With so many in the Bai Family, it's inevitable that some will harbor ill intentions. My principle is to not wrong any good person, but I won't let any scoundrel slip by either."
"Indeed, little girl makes a valid point!" Liao Zhen nodded in agreement.
"By the way, who was that person just now?"
"Bai Tong, son of the Sixteenth Master of the Bai Family. The other one is the son of the Nineteenth Master. The Bai Family has a hierarchy; Bai Laoyezi has many sons and grandchildren, and there are plenty of cousins and their children as well. Currently, there are quite a few grandchildren and even more disciples taken in by various families."
"That Bai Tong raised a ghost, which I captured. Yan Kongyue recounted what happened that night at the hospital; Lin Lie and Lin Zhuo were unaware that such an incident had occurred."
"What about Gui Lao Tai? How did you handle it?"
"I had Niu Tou and Ma Mian take it back to Difu!"
"Forget about it. Zhao Tianyi wanted to interrogate Gui Lao Tai, but once he heard it was taken by Ox-Head and Horse-Face, he knew it wouldn't come back and gave up."
"Don't worry; it's been interrogated. Although Gui Lao Tai can't serve as a witness, it knows its master. I’m curious to hear how the Bai Family Head explains this matter regarding Xuanmen and Zhong Ren raising fierce ghosts."
"This too?"
"Of course!"
"Can Ox-Head and Horse-Face bring it back?"
"Absolutely, anytime!"
"Oh ho ho, that's good! Liao Zhen felt relieved and gave himself a mental pat on the back for having good judgment; this little girl had extraordinary abilities—now she just needed to reach for the heavens."
Exiting the National Security Bureau building, Yan Kongyue glanced toward the opposite parking lot after getting into the car, a smirk playing on her lips: "Hmph, lurking here!" She then snapped her fingers in the direction of a white sedan.
"Tong Shixiong, are you sure those three were in the conference room just now?"
"Yes. This place isn't somewhere anyone can linger for long. Judging by their fine attire, it seems Zhao Tianyi received Bai Tong just as he suddenly clutched his stomach, his face contorting."
Gurgle! Bai Yang didn't even have a chance to speak; he jumped out of the car clutching his backside and dashed toward the office building, leaving a series of sounds behind him.
Bai Tong happened to be right behind him when an unpleasant odor hit him head-on, nearly making him gag.
However, unfortunate for them, the restroom on the first floor was under maintenance. The two quickly rushed up to the second floor only to find both restrooms locked. Bai Tong's face turned green from holding it in while Bai Yang knocked on a door several times but received no response. They then sprinted up to the third floor.
As they ran, they plastered themselves with talismans—healing charms, peace charms, health charms, disaster-avoiding charms—but none proved effective. Finally, after a loud crash, an unbearable stench filled the stairwell.
But this was just the beginning; one knelt on the landing clutching his stomach while the other squatted with his legs crossed on the stairs. The sounds echoed through the corridor as they reverberated up and down.
"Ugh, what is that smell? It's awful!" A woman's voice echoed from the fourth-floor office area.
Upon hearing this voice, Bai Tong's face instantly turned pale. He felt as if he could just sink into the marble floor beneath him.
Then came the sound of footsteps approaching. Bai Tong felt utterly defeated. Just then, there was a loud bang as the safety door of the stairwell slammed shut.
Bai Tong had just breathed a sigh of relief when another voice came from the second floor. Of all times, Bai Yang had decided to make an entrance again, and the stench was so overwhelming that Bai Tong felt like he could kill him.
"Tong, brother, do you have a Cleaning Talisman?" Bai Yang squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth.
Although Bai Yang's voice sounded pained, Bai Tong felt a glimmer of hope as he finally managed to say something. Cautiously, he pulled a Cleaning Talisman from his pocket. He was running out of time and feared that any sudden movement would give away his position.
But the more he worried about things going wrong, the more likely they were to happen. Just as he feared, his hand trembled, and the Cleaning Talisman slipped right into the mess below him.
It seemed he had forgotten that he had given himself so many talismans before.
"Ah!" Bai Tong gritted his teeth in frustration and pounded his fists against the marble floor. Perhaps he hit it too hard; he lost control of himself in an instant.
Meanwhile, in the monitoring room, Zhao Tianyi struggled to suppress his laughter as he turned to leave. Just before reaching the door, he instructed the security captain, "Keep an eye on things and make sure they clean up the hallway before leaving!"
