"Hurry up!"
Xiao Yu fidgeted for a moment before standing up to greet Lin Zhuo, but Lin Zhuo bypassed her.
"Chen Zheng, is that really you?" Lin Zhuo strode towards the drummer.
"Wow, Lin Zhuo! What brings you here?" Chen Zheng stepped forward to shake Lin Zhuo's hand.
"My younger siblings wanted to come out and play, and since I have the day off, I brought them along."
"I was wondering how Captain Lin had the time to hang out at a bar."
"Alright, old friend, stop with the sarcasm." Lin Zhuo shoved a bouquet into Chen Zheng's arms.
"Wow, as expected of the Second Young Master of Lin Group, so generous!" Lin Zhuo had given him the most expensive bouquet in the bar.
"I just came to see if it was really you. It's been years; I almost didn't recognize you."
Lin Zhuo, preoccupied with the task Yan Kongyue had assigned him, exchanged a few pleasantries with Chen Zheng before leaving.
Just behind him, the fire alarm in the bar suddenly blared. Lin Zhuo had placed tear gas on the windowsill, and a large amount of smoke billowed out from the window.
Lin Zhuo's calculations were precise; although only a small portion of the tear gas was released, it was enough to cause discomfort without disorienting anyone completely.
As the alarm sounded, the staff quickly reacted, directing patrons towards the exit. However, chaos ensued with screams, shouts, overturned tables, and shattered bottles filling the air.
Feng Xing immediately summoned Chu Ling, while Lin Qian and Lin Lang joined Huo Jingyu's Ghost Guardian as they emerged from Linglong Bone.
The Ghost Guardians were specially trained by Yan Kongyue; like Gui Jiang Jun and Song Chenghu, they were visible to people.
The prominent ghosts received their orders and swiftly floated into the panicked crowd. Upon seeing several tall, translucent figures, people trembled in fear, and the room quieted significantly.
"That way!" The Ghost Guardian pointed towards the exit with a tremor of his spear.
The frightened crowd hesitated for a moment before obediently following the Ghost Guardian's directions out of the bar.
The Bar Owner was about to greet Lin Qian in her room when he heard the alarm ring. Without hesitation, he turned and rushed outside.
Lin Zhuo headed straight for the emergency exit; those in the restroom had already followed staff out. Two bodyguards remained at their post but could clearly be seen hesitating about whether to stay or leave.
"The backstage is on fire! Aren't you coming?"
"We—"
"Hurry up and evacuate! The fire is fierce; it will reach here soon! Do you want to be buried with it?"
The two bodyguards exchanged a glance and immediately turned to leave; no amount of money was worth their lives. Just as they were exiting, Yan Kongyue and his companions reached the corner of the corridor.
“Feng Xing, break the door!” Yan Kongyue glanced at the retreating figures of the bodyguards.
Feng Xing swiftly disappeared, and then there was a loud bang as the security door was forced open.
The crowd inside the bar had mostly been evacuated, and outside, the wail of fire truck sirens began to sound. Chu Ling directed the last few people to leave and stood guard at the entrance.
Meanwhile, several Ghost Guardians checked all the rooms and corners of the bar, ensuring that no one was left behind before heading towards the emergency exit.
At that moment, Yan Kongyue and his group had just arrived at the entrance to the third underground level. Although it was called the third level, there was still some distance to cover from the second level.
Moreover, there were no lights on the staircase leading down from the second to the third level. Fortunately, Yan Kongyue had everything he needed in his small shoulder bag.
Lin Zhuo thought Yan Kongyue was holding a powerful flashlight, but when he saw what Yan Kongyue actually had in his hand, his eyes widened in surprise—it was a handheld searchlight.
If I’m not mistaken, this should be military-grade equipment!
