Ye Tian felt a warmth in his heart as the tense battlefield suddenly shifted.
Lu Li Liang, facing Zhang Mingfeng's relentless attacks, struggled to find a breakthrough. He secretly pondered, fearing that the Qixing Sect might send reinforcements; if that happened, things would become much more difficult for him.
Hmph, if that's the case, then don't blame me for using my ultimate move! Lu Li Liang steeled himself, and the spiritual energy within him surged like a river awakened by spring winds.
With a loud shout, he unleashed his signature technique, the Cloud and Rain Transformation. The Mandarin Duck Flag above his head fluttered wildly, its surface filled with overlapping shadows. The indescribable sound that followed grew even more powerful, throwing the spectators into disarray. Even Zhang Mingfeng was nearly disturbed by this sudden music, struggling to maintain his focus.
Seeing this, Zhang Mingfeng inwardly cursed and prepared to unleash his own secret skill, the Thousand Waves, to turn the tide back in his favor. However, he noticed Lu Li Liang smirking slyly. With a gentle wave of his hand, Zheng Lingfeng was drawn to his side by an invisible force.
Immediately after, Lu Li Liang pulled out several Phantom Talismans from his robe and scattered them like beans across the battlefield. Instantly, several identical phantoms appeared on the scene, making it difficult to distinguish between reality and illusion.
Cackling with glee, Lu Li Liang declared, "Old man, this is where it ends for you! We'll meet again another day!" He turned and led everyone away under the cover of the phantoms, leaving Zhang Mingfeng standing alone in place, silently watching their receding figures.
Xia Qingyan and Ying Ziyi breathed a sigh of relief as they saw the crisis averted. They quickly approached Zhang Mingfeng along with three surviving disciples from the Qixing Sect.
Ying Ziyi's gaze fixed on Ye Tian, her concern evident in her expression. She hurried forward and circled around him, inspecting him from head to toe as if she needed to see every part of him before she could feel at ease.
"Ye Tian Brother, are you alright?" Her voice carried a mix of urgency and tenderness.
Hearing this, Ye Tian's heart tightened as an awkward scene from earlier flashed through his mind; the embarrassment from that moment still lingered. He felt his face heat up and quickly turned away from Ying Ziyi, trying to maintain his composure. "You’re worrying too much; I’m fine!"
Noticing his reaction only deepened Ying Ziyi's confusion. She blinked her big eyes and asked in bewilderment, "Then why are you turning your back to me? Don’t you want me to see?"
"Are you hurt somewhere? Are you afraid I'll worry?" Her tone was filled with concern and curiosity.
With his back turned to her, Ye Tian's lips twitched slightly as he thought to himself: This girl really knows how to hit the nail on the head.
He steeled himself and feigned nonchalance, saying, "Oh, I was just worried you might laugh at me!"
"I'm someone who values my image, you know," he added with a forced laugh, trying to mask the embarrassment he felt inside.
Hearing him say this, Ying Ziyi couldn't help but chuckle, her earlier doubts momentarily fading away.
"Brother Ye Tian, you're just too amusing! But don't worry, no matter how you look, I'll always be by your side," she reassured him.
Meanwhile, Xia Qingyan stood to the side, lost in thought as she watched Ye Tian and Ying Ziyi interact.
Noticing her distraction, Zhang Mingfeng gently cleared his throat, breaking the tranquil atmosphere.
His voice carried a hint of urgency as he said, "Saintess, now that this matter is settled, we need to hurry back to Wanjian Sect and report this to the Sect Master."
Xia Qingyan nodded lightly, her gaze still fixed on Ye Tian and Ying Ziyi.
She spoke with determination, "However, these two friends saved us earlier; I must express my gratitude first."
