In the small courtyard, Boss Dai and Ze Anzhi sat at a stone round table, sipping tea from covered cups. "Speak up, what intelligence do you have that requires us to meet in person?"
Ze Anzhi pulled out a piece of paper from his inner pocket, which bore a name, a position, and a Japanese name.
As Boss Dai took the paper and glanced at it, his eyes widened in shock. "This! This is... the Chief of the Principal's Guards! How is this possible?"
"It's true; this is the initial information!" Ze Anzhi replied. He then produced another yellowed piece of paper with a photograph attached.
After examining it closely, sweat began to bead on Boss Dai's forehead. The Chief of Guards had been sent out before Man Tie's time, lurking beside the Principal as Dingzi. If activated, the Principal could be in grave danger at any moment!
"No! I must go to Jinling immediately!" Boss Dai exclaimed.
"Don't rush. A single phone call can resolve this. Have one of your subordinates pretend to be in front of him and recite a specific phrase; it's a code. Even if it means sacrificing his life as a price for death, that guy will choose to commit suicide immediately."
"What? You know the code? How do you know it?" Boss Dai asked, astonished.
Ze Anzhi smiled and pulled out three small notebooks, laying them out in front of Boss Dai.
Boss Dai glanced at them and nearly gasped in disbelief. The yellow one was from the Kanto Army Military Police Headquarters—Squad Leader Asuka Ryo—with Ze Anzhi's photo; the red one was a Special High Class credential showing him as the Deputy Chief of the Intelligence Division, again with his photo; and the third was an identification proving him as Vice President of the Empire of Japan Royal Investment Group (South Manchuria Railway), once more featuring his image.
Each identity was beyond anything Boss Dai could have imagined. Any one of them would elevate even an ordinary Japanese civilian to great heights, yet they were all concentrated in one individual.
Which deity had blessed this subordinate? Did he need to pay homage?
With so many Dingzi lurking around the Principal, Boss Dai chose to believe it. He quickly arranged for someone to bring a phone and personally dialed, instructing them to quietly approach the Chief of Guards and recite the phrase written by Ze Anzhi. As dawn broke and the sea calmed, he declared, "It’s time for your loyalty! I need you to commit suicide now to ensure my mission succeeds! Qiu Bojun! Thank you!"
Sure enough, the other party really did take out a gun and ended his own life!
The Chief of Guards shot himself just meters away from the Principal's office. This life-threatening incident enraged the Principal greatly. After Boss Dai explained everything over the phone—especially upon learning that this long-hidden guard was actually Oni—the Principal realized once again that it was that agent known as Code Name Dragon who had intervened, effectively saving him this time.
The Principal emphasized over the phone that Boss Dai must commend this capable young man and expressed hope for an opportunity to meet him in person!
However, meeting was impossible now; Ze Anzhi's current identities were so significant that Boss Dai felt it might be necessary to destroy any information related to Li Ping'an as well.
After all this time battling Oni and sending out countless agents—if not thousands—there truly was no one capable of infiltrating both Gendarmerie and Special High Class like Ze Anzhi!
This incredibly strong young man, who looked nothing like a typical agent, had already gathered all the identities from the three major intelligence agencies in Northeast Japan! It was truly impressive! The trump card he held in his hands had finally made its appearance.
