That evening, Hitler convened nearly the entire high command of the Empire at the Premier's residence for a grand welcome party to honor the Empire's friend, Thomas Mellon Rockefeller, President of the Ma Hu Group. Initially, the high-ranking officials of the Empire were puzzled, but after Rosenberg and Goebbels provided quiet explanations, their gazes toward Thomas Mellon Rockefeller began to soften.
The senior military leaders of the Empire had initially looked down upon him, but after General Vollbeck offered a brief explanation, their attitudes shifted, and they regarded Thomas Mellon Rockefeller with growing warmth. However, when Vollbeck mentioned that Thomas Mellon Rockefeller wished to join the SS, a chorus of objections arose from the marshals and generals. Chief of General Staff William Adam discreetly proposed an invitation for Thomas to join the German Army instead, suggesting that he would personally grant him the rank of Colonel, hoping that Thomas could inherit his father's position within the military.
Rosenberg, not wanting to clash with Little Mustache who had already agreed to Thomas's entry into the SS, was also reluctant to offend the Chief of General Staff. Therefore, he proposed a solution: expedite Thomas Mellon Rockefeller's enlistment so that when the Führer awarded him his SS rank, there would be no conflict. In other words, Thomas would hold dual identities within both the army and the SS.
After a brief discussion among the staff and several generals, arrangements were made. Half an hour later, while Vollbeck and Thomas were momentarily away in the restroom, Thomas had already completed his photo session in Colonel's uniform, had his identification documents prepared, and received his rank directly from the Chief of General Staff.
The officer's credentials were almost entirely produced on-site, and soon enough, Colonel's documents from the German General Staff were tucked into Thomas Mellon Rockefeller's pocket. Seeing such support from the high command of the German Army, Thomas was eager to reciprocate. He immediately declared that he would take on all future military procurement orders for the German Army, ensuring quality and fair pricing—he even promised prices below the European average.
Originally, the high command had merely intended to give a name to the fallen hero general’s son while establishing a connection with this wealthy heir from the United States. They never anticipated that Thomas Mellon Rockefeller would be so proactive in accepting all orders right off the bat!
“Colonel Thomas Mellon Rockefeller,” William Adam stated seriously yet with palpable excitement in his demeanor, “you are now an honored soldier of Germany! You are addressing none other than the Chief of General Staff of the German Army! Choose your words carefully!”
“Your Excellency,” he replied confidently. “The hundred thousand Imperial Army must be prepared for history. Whether it’s uniforms or rations, firearms or artillery—if it’s available in the United States, I can procure it for the Empire without making a single profit! This is my promise as a member of the Furbeck Family; my father was a hero of Germany—I cannot be seen as anything less!”
“Excellent! Colonel Thomas Mellon Rockefeller, change out of your military uniform; we shall continue our discussions another day. Here is my business card with my personal phone number—do come find me when you have time!”
“Yes! Chief of General Staff! Your Excellency!”
With a standard military salute that earned him respect from all present generals—who traditionally did not accept fascist gestures—Thomas changed out of his uniform and donned formal attire for the evening gala.
At the event, Beautiful Heidi was chatting with Little Mustache and Hitler. Upon seeing Thomas Mellon Rockefeller arrive, she exclaimed joyfully, “Darling! The Führer has invited me to star in a film—a movie celebrating German women!”
