Under the supervision of Van Helsing, Luni began to present the glass pieces for valuation to John. The pieces, known as Volcanic Jade, lay quietly in a carefully arranged tray prepared by the staff of the Chamber of Commerce. Each tray was neatly organized, and every piece of Volcanic Jade was meticulously placed, with a trained attendant standing by every few pieces to oversee them. 0

For John, these Volcanic Jade pieces did not seem particularly valuable; however, in the eyes of those around him, each piece was a precious gem, worth more than their own lives! 0

As time passed, after about ten minutes, Luni finally completed his detailed inspection of all the glass. He not only examined their material but also studied their luster and various related properties. 0

Then, holding a detailed record of all the data and evaluations, he quickly made his way to where Van Helsing was. 0

"Vice President, this is my valuation based on the inspection I just conducted. Please take a look," Luni respectfully handed the document to Van Helsing. 0

Van Helsing took the document and carefully scrutinized it from top to bottom. He nodded slightly in approval. 0

After some serious consideration, Van Helsing nodded with satisfaction and carefully tucked the document away. 0

With a smile on his face, he turned to John and spoke kindly. "Sir Knight, I have reviewed this quotation. After our discussions and evaluations, we have decided to offer you a price of gold coins for your batch of goods. I wonder if this price would be satisfactory to you?" 0

Hearing the offer of gold coins, John did not rush to agree. It was a seller's market now; he needed to remain calm. Every additional gold coin counted. After all, one gold coin could support a family of five for an entire year. 0

A soldier earned only five Silver Coins a month; with that amount, he could support several people. If he had no dependents, he could live quite comfortably—perhaps even enjoy some drinks at the tavern. 0

"Mr. President, you must understand that my Volcanic Jade is a rare gem. I’ve heard that only the Beastman Empire has it available for sale. If it were just one piece, I wouldn’t mind so much; but with this many pieces, your price isn’t very appealing." 0

"And what do you think it should be?" Van Helsing knew better than to reveal his bottom line and tossed the pricing power back to John. 0

At that moment, John found himself at a loss because he couldn't gauge what price would be appropriate. If he asked for too much, they would surely refuse; but if he asked for too little, he felt he would be at a disadvantage. 0

After some contemplation, he finally gritted his teeth and declared a price: "Two thousand gold coins, non-negotiable!" 0

Upon hearing this figure, Van Helsing feigned surprise and clicked his tongue in disbelief. 0

However, inside he was already overjoyed. This pile of gems was no ordinary find! Even without considering potential profits from selling them later, using them as bargaining chips in social dealings would guarantee a solid return. 0

After all, rarity breeds value; once these gems were in his possession, the reputation of Yodel Trading Company would undoubtedly soar. 0

Despite his inner delight, Van Helsing pretended to struggle with the decision as if it weighed heavily on him. After hesitating for quite some time, he slowly replied, "Alright then, I suppose I can take a hit this time; consider it a favor for you as a friend. Luni, quickly fetch the money and remember to mention my name." 0

"Understood, President!" Luni quickly responded before turning around and hurrying off. 0

At that moment, sitting across from them and watching their exchange unfold like a performance made John suddenly realize that he might have lost out significantly. He couldn't help but begin to feel regretful. 0

Thinking to myself: Oh dear, did I quote too low? I should have raised the price a bit more earlier. 0
