However, as time passed, the ambitious Pirate Captain was not satisfied with his current power and fleeting life. Thus, in pursuit of greater strength and longevity, he resolutely embarked on a journey that ultimately led him to this desolate island, where he began to develop a more advanced Magic Wolf Bloodline Knight Potion. 0

Unfortunately, fate did not favor him; despite the captain's immense efforts, the experiment ended in failure. The skeletal remains that John had just seen must have belonged to that very Pirate Captain himself. As for the monsters on the island, they were likely the failed products of his experiments, but who could say for sure? Everything was lost to the passage of time. 0

At that moment, John casually opened another book nearby, filled with dense records of various experimental data and processes. However, as he focused on the pages, he couldn't help but shake his head in disbelief and let out a series of exasperated remarks. 0

Tsk tsk tsk, did he really think he could refine water into something useful? What a delusion! The experimental records were far too crude; there wasn't even a clear standard for the necessary flame temperature noted. The materials used were merely estimated, lacking any precision whatsoever. 0

It was evident that this seemingly imposing Pirate Captain had not lived up to his noble lineage as a Serf; he was nothing more than an amateur scientist who knew nothing but how to make a mess of things. 0

After ensuring that there was nothing left to find around him, John decided it was time to leave. "Kuiradi, gather your men and clean this place up. Make sure to explore the island thoroughly so we can return." 0

Kuiradi responded promptly, "Yes!" He began directing the soldiers to get to work. "You lot, pack up these instruments carefully; don’t break anything." 0

John made his way down to the bottom of a pit and grabbed hold of a dry vine, signaling for the soldiers above to pull him up. 0

Ten days later... 0

Boom! Bang! 0

Explosions echoed intermittently from within the castle. The soldiers on the battlements had grown accustomed to it; there had been sounds coming from inside for days now, and no one knew what the Lord was up to since he hadn’t shown his face in three or four days. 0

In the basement beneath the castle, the light was dim and filled with an ancient atmosphere. A weakly flickering oil lamp cast a yellow glow that illuminated John's focused yet slightly fatigued figure. Alone in this space, he was wholly absorbed in concocting potions. 0

Before him lay an array of peculiar materials: a pile of specially treated herbs emitting strange fragrances; several freshly caught insects wriggling restlessly in jars; and a small lizard quietly resting nearby. 0

John methodically added these materials one by one into a crucible. As he worked, the boiling water within began to bubble vigorously, producing colorful froths. He held an iron rod and gently stirred it, each movement careful and deliberate. 0

As if handling a rare treasure, he slowly added the final precious ingredient into the crucible. Then, with utmost caution, he introduced a small amount of horseshoe horn powder. 0

In an instant, a violent reaction occurred within the crucible. The originally pitch-black mixture rapidly transformed—first into a deep blue color, then gradually shifting into an ethereal purple before finally turning into a vibrant green. 0

Colorful bubbles continuously expanded and rose, crashing against the ceiling before bursting into droplets that fell back into the crucible. 0

At this moment, John stood nearby, so tense that he hardly dared to breathe, even holding his breath. He was afraid that a careless exhalation might release a drop of saliva and ruin the entire preparation process. 0

As time ticked by, the reaction in the crucible gradually subsided. Eventually, the once turbulent liquid became calm, presenting a captivating shade of pink. 0

Seeing this scene, the weight that had been hanging over John's heart finally lifted. He let out a long sigh of relief, a smile of satisfaction spreading across his face. 0

Finally, it worked! John exclaimed, his voice tinged with an unmistakable weariness and sorrow. Over the course of four long days, he had endured countless attempts and failures but had never given up. This hard-won success made him feel that all his efforts were worthwhile. 0

Haha, I have finally completed the healing potion! 0
