The young talents of Blink County are truly exceptional, and the prince has come here specifically to invite you to join my ranks and lend me your strength!
As John listened, he couldn't help but think, "Isn't it a bit much for a mere squire like me to be involved in such matters?"
Redman felt the same way; the entire White Family behind him seemed insignificant in the face of such an occasion, like a grain of sand that could be swept away by the wind.
"What exactly are we supposed to do?" John asked his elder brother directly, hoping for guidance. He noticed that his brother seemed at a loss for ideas.
Caesar Novich was taken aback by how quickly John's status had changed. Just moments ago, he had been shocked, but now he was ready to get down to business.
John thought to himself, "What’s this? I was smoother when I was just a serf chef in the first three chapters."
Clearing his throat, Caesar Novich looked directly at the two men before him and spoke slowly.
"I truly need your help this time, specifically from you, John. In the western region, I have a group of personnel who are not regular soldiers. However, given the current tense situation, I urgently need them to take part in combat. Therefore, I am in dire need of an excellent instructor to train and guide them. Do you have any thoughts on this?"
Upon hearing this, John's mind suddenly cleared. Without hesitation, he stepped forward, knelt on one knee, raised his hands in a gesture of respect above his head, and displayed an earnest expression as he proclaimed loudly, "I am deeply grateful for Prince Caesar's kindness and trust. I am willing to serve you with all my strength! I will not hesitate even if it costs me my life!"
Seeing this, Caesar Novich immediately broke into a wide smile and exclaimed, "Having your assistance is like adding wings to a fierce tiger! Hahaha! Please rise!"
As Caesar Novich helped John up from his kneeling position, John took advantage of the moment and gracefully seated himself beside the prince. Once settled, he slightly bowed towards Caesar Novich and asked, "Thank you for your kindness, Your Highness. However, when should I depart for the west? And where exactly are these personnel located now?"
"There's no rush; let's finish this battle first. I want to see what kind of Divine Knight you truly are," Caesar Novich replied. He wasn't ready to hand over that group just yet; he wanted to assess whether John was merely posturing or if he genuinely had substance.
Three hours later
The servants busily tidied up the chaotic remnants of the meal. Leftover chicken, duck, fish, and delicacies were haphazardly piled together, emitting a nauseating odor. At that moment, John sat across from Redman, both with steaming cups of Fragrant Tea before them.
Suddenly, there was a loud slurping sound as Redman gulped down his tea in one go. He flipped his cup upside down on the table and leaned back with his eyes tightly shut; his once handsome face was now marred by deep lines of worry.
John was not idle either; he drank cup after cup of tea as if it were plain water rather than precious Fragrant Tea. The two men had completely lost the lighthearted demeanor they had shared while conversing with Caesar Novich; instead, a heavy atmosphere filled the room.
Time ticked away as the servants quietly worked until they cleared all the dishes from the room. The space felt empty except for John and Redman—two men burdened with heavy hearts. Finally unable to contain his anxiety any longer, John broke the silence: "Brother, you need to make a decision quickly!"
