Redman took a deep breath and slowly opened his mouth to speak. "John, I really didn't expect you to have such a tumultuous trip this time! To be honest, I was worried that you wouldn't come back with much of anything."
John smiled wryly and shook his head in response. "Well, is this really much? I barely managed to break even. You should know that when I set out, I had a full squad of four armored warriors with me, but now, looking at the people I have left, I can barely scrape together two."
"And those four Serf Soldiers? Their combat abilities leave much to be desired! As for the stuff we brought back on the cart, it may look like a lot at first glance, but most of it is already damaged beyond repair. When we get home, it’ll probably just be a pile of scrap metal to be reforged."
At that moment, John seemed to suddenly remember something and quickly asked Redman with concern, "By the way, big brother, how's your leg injury healing?"
Redman looked down at his wounded leg and replied thoughtfully, "Well, it seems optimistic for now. I estimate that in about four days, I should be fully healed."
Hearing this news, John let out a slight sigh of relief and said, "In that case, you should rest on the cart for a while. We need to hurry up; otherwise, our food supplies will run out soon."
With that, they continued their journey without pause, racing toward the nearest large city.
John had already made plans in his mind. This trip to the city was primarily for him to stock up on a large quantity of food. After all, the significant event announced by Blink County would surely cause local food prices to soar.
Taking advantage of the fact that news had not yet spread widely and most people were still in the dark about it, he wanted to seize this rare opportunity to buy a substantial amount of food and reap hefty profits. Even if he didn’t make money, he could at least ensure he had enough supplies on hand.
After several days of arduous travel, they finally returned to Salty Fish Village. It looked as peaceful and serene as ever, but the exhausted group had no interest in enjoying the scenery; they just wanted to hurry home and rest.
The familiar outline of the castle gradually came into view. Looking at that once-beloved castle, John couldn't help but feel tears welling up in his eyes as emotions flooded his heart.
Finally home! The journey back had been incredibly tough; he hadn’t even stopped at Binhai Town along the way just to reach home sooner.
Throughout their travels, they had endured hardships—sleeping rough and facing wind and rain—and were no longer as spirited and enthusiastic as when they first set out.
However, after overcoming countless difficulties, John successfully dragged dozens of carts filled with goods back to his hometown. Yet even now, his heart was still filled with worry about whether his beloved Annie and other family members were safe and sound.
