With a sharp crackling sound, the Mysterious Stone Egg, engulfed in flames, began to emit a tantalizing sizzling noise. The fierce flames licked at the egg as if they were trying to devour it entirely. Amidst this heat, a rich, unique aroma wafted into John's nose, reminiscent of barbecued delicacies.
Hmm? This scent is surprisingly enticing! John thought to himself, it smelled just like roasted goose eggs, evoking memories of the delicious stew from the Iron Pot. It seemed he would have to prepare a feast tonight.
As the fire blazed hotter and the temperature in the hearth rose steadily, John suddenly sensed that the Mysterious Stone Egg, which had been quietly resting in the fireplace, was beginning to stir.
He focused his gaze and inwardly exclaimed in alarm: Could it be my imagination? No, that’s not right; the Mysterious Stone Egg is truly moving!
The egg appeared to come alive, shaking vigorously. Its movements quickened and intensified, as if it were on the verge of breaking free from its confines.
Oh no! Before John could react, the Mysterious Stone Egg suddenly leaped into his arms with astonishing speed. In an instant, a wave of scorching heat surged through him; he felt an intense warmth against his chest. Looking down, he realized that the egg's fiery surface had burned a shocking hole into his shirt.
In a panic, John quickly grasped the Mysterious Stone Egg with both hands, attempting to throw it away. However, it was far too hot for him to hold onto for long. Ultimately, he lost his grip, and the egg fell to the ground with a thud.
With a crisp crack, the Mysterious Stone Egg shattered. Cracks spread rapidly across its surface like a spider's web, extending from the bottom to the top. Finally, under John's anxious gaze, the entire egg broke apart completely.
Then, a pink figure slowly emerged from the shell. When John saw it clearly, his eyes widened in disbelief. Out of the egg came a creature entirely pink in color, with three adorable jelly-like appendages sprouting from its head.
Good heavens! Did it really hatch into a Slime? John murmured to himself in disbelief. He wanted to poke at the creature before him but was jolted back to reality by the pain from his burn on his chest and hands.
Hastily, John pulled out a healing potion from his waist and gulped it down while also grabbing an orange to chew on.
With both remedies working their magic, a refreshing sensation washed over him; the burned skin peeled away and he felt rejuvenated.
He picked up the creature from the ground. Although he had no idea what it was, it stirred something maternal within him.
I might as well raise you like a child for now; this way I won’t be clueless when I have kids later on.
Gently extending his hand, he shook a delicate little bell placed on the table. A clear and melodious chime rang out suddenly.
Before long, a servant waiting outside heard the sound and hurriedly stepped inside. Upon entering, he quickly bowed low and respectfully awaited John's command.
Clearing his throat, John spoke calmly: "Go fetch me some fresh milk; make sure it's fresh. Also prepare some finely minced meat—choose only the best cuts. Oh! And bring some vegetables and fruits as well; try to get a variety."
After finishing his orders, he paused briefly and thought to himself: I’m not sure what this little guy likes to eat; I might as well prepare a bit of everything and see what kind of creature it turns out to be.
