If this guy likes to eat meat, then it might just turn out to be quite a formidable creature. Of course, I hope it’s not that kind of soft, harmless Slime.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye. John stared helplessly at the round, red ball on the floor. Ever since this mysterious little creature appeared, his pregnant wife Annie and the maids in the house had been enchanted, circling around it all day long and completely ignoring him.
John couldn’t understand how such an ordinary Slime could win the hearts of these women. Was it cuter than him? He shook his head and sighed at the thought.
As for why he was certain it was a Slime, let’s look at what John had discovered over the past few days. First, regarding its diet: it was omnivorous and would eat anything. John found that it could even consume wood shavings, but Annie wouldn’t let him feed it randomly anymore. Otherwise, he would have liked to try giving it other things, like rotten meat or smelly socks—one must have a spirit of exploration.
Secondly, this little creature could spit acid. He witnessed it yesterday when he took it out; it went wild spitting acid bubbles at a grasshopper. However, the most embarrassing part was that it didn’t actually do anything to catch the grasshopper.
John had given up hope that this pink ball would have any combat abilities; he might as well keep it as a pet. Aside from eating and making a mess, it didn’t seem to have any other issues.
“Dear John, don’t you think we should make some clothes for Nini?”
(Nini was the name John had given to the Slime; he just didn’t understand why that name—perhaps because it was pink?)
John widened his eyes in disbelief as he looked at his wife, who was babbling excitedly about dressing a ball! This was utterly ridiculous, wasn’t it? He shook his head vigorously, trying to clear his mind and confirm that he hadn’t misheard.
How could his once clever and witty wife say something so nonsensical? She used to be full of wisdom and rationality. Well, perhaps there was still a hint of her former brilliance left.
Despite being filled with confusion and disbelief, John decided to go along with his wife's wishes. After all, she was pregnant, and emotional fluctuations were inevitable. So he sighed and reluctantly said, “Alright then, I’ll have someone get started on that right away.”
Upon receiving her husband’s affirmative response, Annie became as excited as a child and immediately rushed over to Nini. She carefully picked up the Slime and held it high above her head, spinning around joyfully while chanting, “Nini! Soon you’ll be wearing a beautiful new outfit!” The sight was simply adorable.
Standing aside, John watched his wife reveling in joy and couldn’t help but smile indulgently. But soon enough, his thoughts were pulled back to the letter he had just received from Redman.
Thinking about the important matters mentioned in the letter, he had to interrupt Annie’s joyful moment and raised his voice to call out to her: “Annie! I need to go to Binhai Town to take care of some things. During this time, you can play with Nini in the castle, but remember not to wander off.”
