Turning to look at Annie standing atop the towering city wall, John's lips curled into a slight smile as he gently waved his hand as if bidding her a final farewell. Then, resolutely turning away, he squeezed his legs against the horse's sides and urged the steed forward to catch up with the advancing troops.
For this expedition, John did not empty his entire household. He carefully selected his most capable assistants—Master and Kuiradi—along with twenty elite soldiers who had already reached the Half-Step Transcendent level. Additionally, a tightly-knit elite guard of three hundred men followed closely behind.
On his territory, he left behind one hundred soldiers and seven personal guards to ensure that even if they encountered bandit attacks, the territory would not easily fall into enemy hands. Take Green Creek Town for instance; it was named after a river called Greenstream. Legend has it that this green stream was the resting place of a legendary dragon, which is why numerous rare herbs grow abundantly in its vicinity.
