Just as the words were about to spill from their lips, an invisible force seemed to block them, leaving the two unable to speak. Could they really tell others that they were just here for a leisurely vacation? Such an excuse would hardly convince even a three-year-old!
As time ticked by, the two remained silent. At that moment, John looked up at the sky and noticed that it was getting late. He thought to himself that he needed to come up with a way to break this awkward silence. So, he decided to give them an easy way out.
With a slight smile, John spoke calmly, "In my opinion, you two must be here to make a deal with me."
Upon hearing this, Baron Norton and Snowman Baron exchanged glances and nodded vigorously like chicks pecking at grain, repeatedly affirming, "Yes, yes! You are absolutely right, Knight John! You truly are the renowned Divine Knight!"
However, they were also feeling uncertain inside; after all, they had no idea what John was actually selling. Given the tense atmosphere, it was not the time to be picky. As long as both parties could coexist peacefully, whatever the other said would suffice.
Redman had remained silent throughout the exchange. For him, as long as this dispute could be avoided, he would be grateful. At that moment, his only thought was to protect his small territory. Since John seemed capable of handling these unexpected guests, that was all the better.
Seeing that the two were so agreeable, John nodded in satisfaction and then reached into his pocket to pull out a vial of potion.
He gently shook the bottle in his hand and presented it to the two before him. "This is our Salty Fish Village's carefully crafted healing potion—its effects are remarkable. Why don't you both take a small sip to try it out?"
Baron Norton and Snowman Baron focused their eyes and recognized it as the small red vial! They each had some on hand as well, which they usually kept for critical moments.
Without hesitation, Baron Norton drew a gleaming dagger and made a cut on his arm. Blood flowed down his arm without any second thoughts as he dipped his finger into the potion. Once soaked, he quickly pulled his finger out and applied the potion to the wound.
To their amazement, what had been a bleeding wound began to heal at an astonishing speed before their eyes.
Exchanging excited glances with each other, they smiled broadly—this was indeed a healing potion! They had managed to acquire a few bottles due to family connections but never expected there would be an alchemist in such a rural area.
"Knight John, how much is this healing potion?"
John grinned widely and slowly revealed the price: "Forty gold coins per bottle; no bargaining."
Redman stood by with an expressionless face, appearing calm and unbothered while internally criticizing: "What on earth? It used to be just eighteen gold coins per bottle! Even on the battlefield, it was no more than thirty gold coins! What happened? Why is it so expensive now? My little brother is really trying to rip them off."
To his surprise, Norton and Snowman Baron exchanged smiles without attempting to negotiate; they immediately called out for quantities as if afraid someone else might snatch them away.
